Hey,
cool to see that you are progressing with your art.
Imo so far one of the weakest points in your art is human anatomy, I know that you do anatomy studies and drawings but sometimes you just need to do it a bit more:
I mean instead of drawing 3 heads..do a 100. Instead of doing 10 poses...do a 110.
Eventually it all comes down to how much you understand and remember (more as a muscle/reflex memory than a real memory) about how the human body is supposed to look like and work.
Ps. If you have the opportunity attend life drawing sessions.
Keep up with the great work!
Cheers,
Fallen.

Hey there D!
Your portraits are getting better and better, but just like cristina you've sort of established a comfort zone with noses and lips.
Now when you're doing 1 to 1 studies the problem is most likely non existant, but it shows itself in imaginative works, take a look at your faces recent and a few pages back.
Very similiar noses and lips out there. That's a one ( or two to be precise) things to fight with. I had and still have the same problem, it's very convenient for our brains to
not struglle too much and just pull a scheme that we know that works, so our minds are our biggest enemies
P.S I think it's time you should try a different much more effective way of painting, working withing shilouettes/selections for more precision/time saving and in the end of the day better result. This guy that paints for league of legends has it worked out pretty well, take a look at one of his videos:
Thanks for the tips guys, appreciate it. its a long continuous struggle for sure but no one said itll be easy.
Felt like painting a mech

your pose studies are testament to your development over time. however... i feel like you need to do some female chest studies. all over the board. try more frontal poses for live female models. i'm noticing a lot of... implants, if you know what i mean. :Y (i mostly saw them in this post but they are elsewhere in your work too.)
i love your environment perspective practices! those are my weakness... beyond painting.
Thank you for that tutorial link Dan, it's funny in a way. I have a huge databese of tutorials that i've gathered over the years, but i was not getting much out of them years ago, i think now it's finally a good time to rewatch/ re read them all.
P.S Show more pencils! i really enjoy your traditional updates.
Have a great day my friend.
AngeUnge point well taken.
Icecold I know, I noticed that when I study something I absorb it way faster its like your brain is so accustomed to art that it absorbs anything that has to do with art in an instant. it sure is a lot more fun to progress now then before as I can actually see results.
Personal work a gift for my daughter

Hey man, nice sketchbook!
I really like your designs, but I think they could need some more perspective fundamentals. I'd suggest the stuff from Scott Robertson.
I like the way You're painting, but sometimes stuff tends to look a little flat. Maybe you should go for some more still-lifes to get a better understanding of form.
Other than that, you're doing great! Keep it up man!
Thanks Ecki, you're right I noticed that some times my portraits seem to be flat, gotta work on that.
New year new sketchook, I looked back at my old one and it took me a year to finish my last sketchbook which means I am not drawing enough!

dude, you really have to work on your drawing skills in order to go further ! your painting are nice, but there is always this bad quality drawing beneath that kills everything, because it lacks of structure, volume, perspective, etc ! That was my honest opinion to help you ! Keep it up !!
you have come a long way since page 1, dont stop now its getting good! but yeah i agree with the top post, work on your form a bit
Damn, there's a lot of hard work going on here. 51 robot is awesome. I think you've got a tendency at the moment to flatten your images out by not organising your colours/values as much as you could. It's very evident in things like the thunderbolt study, which is amazingly accurate, but would probably benefit a lot from a bit of value change to push the far wing back and bring other parts nearer to camera. Thanks for the stars man, it definitely made my day. Also, your pencils = sick.
I happen to agree with kikindaface, your paintings tend to look sloppy.
Especially man-made stuff always has some hard edges, try to use the lasso-tool for getting those or just try to work with sharper/harder brushes.
I would suggest doing some longer photo studies or still life paintings, pay close attention to edges, form and small details.
I love the colors in the forest/temple study.
Thanks for the critique guys it is well taken.
Here's a quick sketch

great improvement man i'll suggest you study more perspective though they will take your works and design very far, other than that keep up the good work!
This plane is rock solid man! I will have to learn the pen tool aswell, all those details look very professional if they are so tight and precise. Doing this freehand would be a neckbreaker even on a cintiq.
