You seem to be working hard. Keep it up, Hanna! Great self portraits. :]
more study, was doing the whole limited number of strokes thing and also been mapping out my facial terrain D: I think I may have done it wrong..
Hey Amianna Sorry for disappearingLove number 17, the digital colouring is awesome
I can't wait to see those extra charcoal works you have, let me know when you have them upSorry for this crappy comment lol. I'm in a rush for school. I'll stop by again later tonight
Tootles.
Ooo, I'd love to see that last one without the numbers, just the flowing lines... good work![]()
checking in again! glad to see you're still going!
looks great! improvement!
i've been doing a crapload of portraits lately, not self ones yet.. I need to, and get them up on ca.org as well.
do you use a mirror, or?
Karein Post some new stuff soon! Always look forward to hearing again from you and to see your new arts
kab I'll do some more line ones soon ^__^ Thanks
bounchfx Thanks for coming back! I use a mirror sometimes and other times I use my webcam. Only time I used photo was with the dark tonal one.
K, since I didn't post yesterday here are my two dailies
First one is a simple black and white and the other is full out color DD: I think I'm getting better but I still have trouble with the dark area of the face and choosing the right saturation ;d I probably should have spent more time on it, about an hours work here.

Hey Amianna, those last two look really great! I really like the first one, It's so simple, but so effective![]()
What sketcheth said, you really mix things up, leave your comfort zone and all that. Reminds me i need to do that too! Keep the SPs coming!![]()
Number 21, the last colour one, is very nice. It seems the more realistic so far.
the last one is definitely my favorite so far. excellent.
Thanks everyone!
This time I used the pastel and blender in Painter. I've been experimenting with new brushes in painter and learning more about color blending.
This SP represents my "I will turn you into a frog if you don't give me advice on how to improve" face.

Today I tried to take a page from Sketcheth's self portraits. I think I failed epically :/
Okay I post horrible webcam pic of myself so you can critique me better D;
This was done with sunlight and I caught a bunch of pics on my web cam and copied the face a few times- IT was REALLY hard to get my face right from a front angle and it still isn't that right D:I
However, I feel like I learned a lot from this and I wanna do more like it but with a different brush , this acrylic thing killed me ;<
The darkest one is the one I did first..you can see the improvement in the lower ones ;d
those are cool. i like the reflected light in them. =)
Ok this took me a lot longer than it should have for a speed paint.
I was working hard on getting the skin tone right and it took me so long to find the right mix of reds and oranges ;d
Just saw this is my 100th post
Hope I get some feedback this time around, I really need the critiques , been having a lousy time and I'm pretty discouraged;/

your jaw looks really small compared to the rest of the face. maybe render your whole head as well because headshape can be hard to get right as well. even though the eyes look a bit large to me, they look great.
good stuff =)
You're really pretty!I'm liking no. 21 the most.
Here's some encouragement.
KEEP IT GOING!!!!!![]()
I like #26 a lot, fantastic colours and shading, even if as ViRus was remarking the proportions seem slightly off. The light studies in #25 are great too.![]()
The latest sp looks pretty awesome, you used your colours pretty well, insane improvement with it. As virus said the head its sort of out of proportion, the head skews from big to small, but I think its only a little difference. keep it updont get discouraged, we all do, just battle through it and improvement will follow.
wow, how everything changed since my last visit here. great improvement ! 21 is my favorite. keep it up!![]()
Keep them coming! I really like number 26, the skin looks lovely![]()
You're really cute, girl ! The one between the 24 and 25 is awesome, haha ! anyway, great improvment! keep working on it ! Will come back !
It's been far too long. I'm ashamed of myself, but I'm determined to start back up again..
and so I present my previously depressed face D:
glad to see you're going to keep doing these =)
you've improved. keep it up
New day(technically), new sp..
My mouth hurts from smiling for too long for this D;/
but it put me in good mood so I guess it's not so bad, I recommend it
Wanted to try out new brush in Photoshop and different lighting/angle..
Took a long time to do even though it looks rushed ..I swear I spent a lot of time on it lol
Thanks *ViRuS*![]()
hey amianna, sp#13 and #26 I like best
Think you're doing great. Keep doing these,
you'll improve every new sp.
It would be nice to see some shoulders in these also.
It gives the portrait something to sit on instead of floating in the air.
Going back to value study...I felt like I was learning a lot with this one about tones and values , which is one of my weakest points.. but when I look at it now it's not as good as I thought it would turn out, looks too flat still , spent an hour trying to get it to not look flat but I kept making it worse.
I also have been working on not relying on black lines to outline everything, I still did a little but I'm slowly getting used to not relying on.
Done with webcam and took about an hour and a half then another hour with the flatness problem, I think maybe it's too much highlighting?
Oh, and I'll have shoulders from now onthanks danlucas for pointing that out.
