-We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
-Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.

I am on your sketchbook quite often, and I saw the girl with the skirt. Could not resist and try
the math on my own, usually your stuff is 1oo% right but I felt the body is to long, what do you think?
I did the exercise you told me to do I wonder if you could pop in sometimes.

Thanks Jon_n- I wanted to do something silly just for fun.
Thanks Racquel - 320 is about 85% done the grey painting stage, I'll post an update soon (I hope >.<)
Rem_92 - yessir, I got lazy towards the end there and just slapped in a texture- as someone pointed out it's got some pretty epic proportion issues- so I'll have to work on that...
mattpenmaster_ thanks a lot![]()
iven- I got a quick look at your stuff from my family's computer, promise to comment soon... real life has been getting in the way of my CA time lately. - - as for the picture- my stuff is far from 100% right ever lol, but I can see what your going for in the paintover. I like the suggestion- if I were to start over I think I'd make her a bit chubbier too... she's got a bit of a melon head happening lol.
long time between updates, been away from modern technology for a bit. Here's a quick update of some SB stuff. Being away from comp means more pen time.
Here's what I have time to scan now... will post more later.
I really like the style, thou, RETRO style, right ?!.. she's got a bit of a melon head happening lol.
I have a old book about it if you want I post the title, couldn't find it now.
But Hey I found her sister, I really like the MELON heads I do that all the time.
You're new stuff is very cool I like the BOXES, the little panels/ landscape and
the girl with the head phones on in the TOP right corner, very strong expression.
inspiring, inspiring. Very alive love it !
My last post is very important to me, may I ask you to answer to that specifically !

Thanks Iven, I love your enthusiasm about my stuff- to hear that my work inspires someone is the best complement I could possibly receive.
I really should do a bunch more of those panel pictures. /todo list.
Big news for this post- I bought a different pen- one of those uni-ball needle pens. I had a bit of fun exploring how to work without the gradation of the cheapy-bic pen.
Also, an update on the potluck piece- it's slowly getting done, but it's been a very hectic month.
VERY impressed with this sketchbook. Your sketches show confidence in your style and your characters have very wide ranges of emotion. I'm looking forward to seeing more (and I'll have to try to keep up with how much you do!)
And to have somebody living in the same goddamn gray city, the best coincidence possibly happen to US!to hear that my work inspires someone is the best complement
The last sketches like always impressive, no worries I am looking for stuff thouI was drawing on
the BLOOR subway line for hours and I hope to bump into you.
Hope to HANG out with you, it is much more fun to draw together, see you when I see,
why don't you drop me your email add/ FB contact in my guestbook on my new website !!

You're really good at stylizing faces! That's tough for me with human faces and your sketches are inspiringNice posing and energy too!
Awesome stuff, really like that monster Thanksgiving image.
Good stuff. I'd just like to see more updates![]()
Jeiwo - thanks!
Iven- you wouldn't have seen me around lately- I've been in Newfoundland- right now I'm job-hunting so not much out-and-about sketching.
meteor cat- thanks- I really have to get that finished. Gotta sit in one place for a while!
Vekke, Thanks! faces are my favorite thing to draw. I'm working on getting everything else up to speed >.< More figure drawing in my future for sure!
Dracken - thanks - more updates are on the way- as I said above I've been away from my scanner.
This post is more sketchy stuff. 6x9 sketchbook- assortment of pens.
Been AFK for a while. Gotta put together some new animated stuff - I'm determined to get into character animation instead of FX and cleaning and props and stuff. c'mon self motivation...![]()

Your sketchbook stuff is just amazing, especially loved the thumbnail drawings, very inspirational, I wanted to say thank you so much for stopping by my SB.![]()
Thanks Jacilynw84![]()
Today's post resulted from playing with some of the brush sets I've downloaded. The castle started as a scribble and turned into a painting marathon until 3am >.<
Those brush sets were a good deal! Liking the latest work.
Thanks Mila
Been frustrated on the animation front lately - creating a bunch of horrible patch work garbage and decided to go back to basics. I did a yawn, inspired by the trusty survival guide. Here it is- super rough but gave me a good idea of what I need to work on.
I keep painting cubes and doing anatomy studies but it eluded me to just do simple animation studies >.< Going to dedicate some serious time to upping my classical skills
/ animate.
# 343/347 are very cool I should do some animation stuff too, I really like how you use PS.
Very inspiring

Just to prove I havn't been idol here's a little bit of sketch-mess, wip on my potluck (colours are just preliminary, trying to work out what I'm doing there.... suggestions would be great)
The majority of my time has been spent on this month's 11 second club sound file- It wont be done for the contest, but I really need some dialogue for my demo reel. I'll post it when I've got most of it done.![]()
Painty stuff Reference from this site

Hi Rhubix
Thanks for the sketchbook visit and the advice, that was really good of you to take the time thanks a lot! You have also given me something new to think about which is also brilliant.
I have wandered through your SB before and love your style of cartoons (you gotta love cartoons eh!) I like the boxers image too. You really get a feel for the action in that one, well done.

You have a lot of wonderful workKeep at what you're doing, a lot of those studies are great!
I'm wondering if you'll be able to up your animation skills by really pushing the gestures further. Walt Stanchfield comes to mind when dealing with this subject. I've read a good portion of the first Drawn to Life book, I bet it could be useful to you. Even if you know a lot of what he says, the book has a lot of inspirational quotes.
oooo, you've got some great stuff yourself. nice variation, good to explore. looking forward to seeing more of your animation. Been wanting to jump into toon boom myself
~ RBeek - good eye, bud. /kicking myself, will check with the grey filter next time.
~Lightship69 - Always happy to help ^_^. ~ is my love of cartoons that obvious?
~jacen05 - Thanks - definitely spot on advice. I'm a really wimpy poser! I'll have to make a special effort on that front. I actually have both of the drawn to life books, but I think a refresher read is in order!
~Ciicru - Thanks- I love toomboom, it's my favorite animation software. Best drawing tools for any vector program I've played with
.
Been cleaning some toonsso these will look familiar. Been spending most of my time making things look pretty and presentable.
The 3rd group was inspired by my nan and her friends, They used to run around in the center character's "party van" driving all over the Avalon peninsula for dart games, cards, dances and dinners. A very fun and inspirational crowd.
Happy new year all!! Happy sketching![]()
I really like your stuff! It really comes to life. That is something that I wish to be able to do one day!
