Hi, this is the first time for me to post my work here. Glad to do so.

This is my personal work expressing the symbiosis between a corrupted cleric who got expelled from the human world to the dark underground
where demons live and a small demon who has been teased by all other demons because of the light he can produce cause he is a mutant.

Cleric needs the light to survive, Demon wants to revenge against all demons. So they made a deal and started to explore together.

All done by painter on Sep this year. Any type of comment or critique is welcome.

    Thank you~!

Wow looks like you caught the moment quite well, I would love to see some colored ambiance in the background though, like a lot more blue to really give the feeling of quite, almost like a Duatone style coloring. Otherwise looks amazing!

I think i agree with Lordrych. It just needs a little something to jump from the page.. i can't put my finger on it. But impressive piece though, especially the armour..

Thanks, I agree with that this one needs something more ... and overall saturation is too low, etc. i think i should've put some strong point on it
    anyway thank you for comments!

Very nice indeed. I think it would be better if you don't center the character, but place him on the left to keep a big empty space on the right, representing what's lies ahead of him (the battle to come)

I like the the desaturated colours. I think the hand holding the sword is positioned too low... it should be at around stomach area. try bending your arm at 90 degrees, you will see what i mean. And also i think the arm is looking abit too lean, for a warrior, but that is just my own preference.

The armour on his arm looks a bit odd. In real armour the segmented pieces would be higher up, and the upper arm would be protected with solid plate armour. It doesn't matter that this is fantasy rather than historical armour. Those segmental bits are designed to facilitate movement, and you have them placed over a part of the body that doesn't bend. It's just wrong. Sorry.

Also one would expect him to be holding his sword in his right hand. A shield would not be attached to be held longwise like that, so it doesn't read as being held by the right arm. Instead he seems to have the shield propped against him, and to have a left hand on his bent right arm. The skirt of his armour reads as a sleeve.

On the plus side, the lighting and the textures are very good.

i know this sounds a bit weird, but try a gradation in the back ground opposite of how you have it.
right now you have bright light coming from the left and gradating into a darker value.
try reversing this. it will pop the highlights on your character and give more depth to the background.
it will also pop the darker side of the guy.
    cool stuff

I agree with everyone, the desaturated colors are great. On the "Night Hawk" image, the color on the focal point really makes it pop. The only thing that would make me like your stuff more would be adding little bits of color like that. Awesome stuff, man.

Your Starcraft 2 Contest submission is fantastic. I like the overall mood and colors, and the message is very effective. It's a shame you weren't able to submit it, though. I would have voted for it.
