    pablozRamone's sketchbook

    hi everyone!
the reason why started this sketchbook is quite simple- i really need some objecttive crits on my drawings. i'm kind of noob when it comes to digital painting- received my first tablet two weeks ago and i love it. before that i did some pencil sketching. i haven't been drawing for few months last year but i managed to pull myself together and now i'm drawing/sketching everyday as i kinda realised that drawing is the only thing that i won't give up that easily like i did with a lot of things in my life. so i started again with the basics. i practice anathomy quite a lot lately. enough talking here's some art

Yo dude, welcome to CA! You got mad potential...just keep going! I really like those lip sketches you did. Very good practice material! Would love to see the chick and the snake completed; it's coming along nicely!

Good to see you've been busy man! Hell yeah man! These last few are looking good as far as shading and tones are going. You're gonna learn a lot drawing from photos and life (more so from life than photo's just because photos are flat).

Thanks for dropping by my SB. I will also be keeping tabs on yours!

Thank you so much for the feedback on my sketch book ;3

You have wonderful pencil studies but you do need a little more practice on the digital stuff, the dog is done superbly well! Just the faces especially on the last one look off. The eyes are wonky and too far apart.

besides that its all looking really promising :3

Hello there i can see your really excited over your tablet and thats a wonderfull thing.
Ill give you some tips for digital painting
This is the brush i usually use for simple studies like your doing(or if your staring out digital painting)(see atachments xD)

I would sugest going to these sections of the forums:
    - Turorials, tips and tricks
    - References and inspirations
    - FineArts, Studies and discovery

    Check out these forum threads:
    - Peer Project Version 2
    - Digital Painting for PS

    Websites to check:
    - Specular, radiosity, etc.

And there are much more things for you to check.
Some artists show progress shots of their works, i look at them and see how they work.
Some of them just block in the colors other have thumbnails and others have lineart, but i really like the blocking of colors because you dont waste anytime on elaborate sketches or lineart that your usually going to get rid of if you dont like linearts.

    Progress:
Blocking of colors(usually the darkest, without shadows or highligts, just outline the overall shapes) > apply major colors for shadows, highligts, rosyness, etc(no details just overall forms) > develop the forms and colors, shadows, highlights(basicly continue painting to hit likeness to the picture) > Adding details and minor colors that may be missing > Final adjustments.

This is how i usually do my painting studies and its very nice this way i prefer it really.

Hope this helped, i have alot more stuff that you can see but for now i think this is enough dont wanna make this reply too long.

    Take care.
    Ana.

Nice work! Try using a bigger brush and follow the form with your strokes. Then once you get your main colors in you can start blending them. It might help to see the forms more clearly. Keep it up!
