    Narwhal Rain and more

Something for Earth: Fragile Planet, an exhibition coming up at the Society of Illustrators museum of Illustration in NY. I'm working on a kids' book version of this too.

Just another little painting on copper. I walk it three times a day.

    Alice in Wonderland

Here are a couple of paintings done on copper for a show at Gallery Nucleus honoring Alice in Wonderland. Apparently some of the artists from the movies will be involved. The last piece is for something called Brownstones to Red Dirt. A great project involving kids from the inner city and kids from other countries being pen pals. Links for both are down below.

uhhh no i havent youtubed raining whales, hehehhe.
I think the theme of alice in woncerland helped the paintings here even more since the original novel is also very dreamy, almost like a vivid lucid dream. The surreality of the image here makes the painting a dream, yet the content holds itself together maintaining that lucidity(is this a word?).
I am a really big fan of your underpainting/backgrounds.

    Final Alice

Final piece in the Alice series for Gallery Nucleus. Should be a great opening. I wish I could be there but will be jurying Spectrum 17 over the weekend, so I'm still accepting bribes.

    More of My Weird World

A commission for a client in New Zealand, and a small copper piece, 2.5 x 2.5 inches. Wow, I love doing this stuff.

Have you seen or read anything by Neil Gaiman? If you haven't, I suspect you would like it: It's probably your cup of tea. If not, I recommend it. Have you seen MirrorMask? I see similarities here, but I want you to know, this is only a complement by way of comparison: your stuff is unique. It seems there is a story to be told in each picture. That its to say, each piece appears to be more than the sum of it's parts. Bravo.

Thanks Tom, great compliment from you.

bhanu, I can always count on you. You have great taste.

Klaw, Pretty much read everything Gaiman and I show Mirror Mask to my students almost every semester. In fact looks like I'll be in a show with Dave McKean next year. Thanks for the kind words.
