These look like they should be in a book or something... Kinda fairytail'ish.
isokarhu-thank you. I paint with acrylic on different surfaces. These three are on wood but many of my paintings, like the previous one, are on copper.
KJamesJR-Yeah book in the works just takes time.
Nice style and unique works![]()
I keep painting like a madman hoping to make an impact.

That's perfect english Danka, thanks.
Emily-Yeah shades of a retired Oz monkey maybe.
Your stuff is so creepy in the best way possible. Like artwork out of it's own time.
I think you have already made an impactmany times!
As long as you encourage I will keep posting these weird things that I'm painting for an October show.
"Keeper of the Armored Beaver"
"A Sting Can be Bloody"

Simply beautiful. A large number are redolent of Patrick Woodroffe, is he an influence?

Thanks Mordus. I can't believe it. You are the first to cite that influence before prompting. Woodruffe, Ian Miller, and Roger Dean had big early influences on me. Amazing that some of that still shows through.
I really dig this stuff. It kinda reminds me of Jacek Yerka. Not so much in terms of style or subject matter, but in the mood and atmosphere you achieve. Good stuff!
"Contrary to the belief of the layman, the essential of art is not to imitate nature, but under the guise of imitation to stir up excitement with pure plastic elements: measurements, directions, ornaments, lights, values, colors, substances, divided and organized according to the injunctions of natural laws. While so occupied, the artist never ceases to be subservient to nature, but instead of imitating the incidents in a paltry way, he imitates the laws."-Andre Lhote

If I were the king of Art then you would be showing in every major gallery.
Only just disovered this gem. Post 122 and 194 made my day. Incredible. You remind me of Jacek Yerka and the odd and quirky places ones mind often traveks to (at least mine does). I cannot express enough how much of an inspiration your work is. BRILLIANT.
edit: lol! jpacer haha. I posted while on page 8; you made the same connection![]()

I see you are focusing on portraits.
I think it fits very well on book illustration.

Thanks jpacer, Yerka can paint.
Ccs, I dub you king of art. Thanks.
NonSequitur, interesting first time I've been mentioned with Yerka and it happened twice. Thanks for the kind words.
Thank you knut.
Something a little different for New York. Acrylic on paper, 11x18 inches.
"A Careless Horning"

Rick Berry invited me to be in a show at the William Scott Gallery in Boston. How could I say no, especially when the line up includes people like Phil Hale,
Bill Sienkiewicz, Stephan Martiniere, Greg Manchess, Travis Louie, Scott Bakal, and on and on. This is my less than humble offering.
"No Really, I Am Vampire"

Very interesting and beautiful style you have. I've enjoyed looking through them all!

Bill,
Really liking the new stuff. The brushwork and finish seems a little looser than previous offerings. Is that my imagination? Either way, I always enjoy your work.
Thanks zimfin, glad you enjoyed the work.
Armand-It is not your imagination. I've been enjoying paint even more lately than I thought I could. Always loved painting but sometimes just a little diversion here and a conversation there can put new or different fires under the ass. Thanks for noticing. I'll post a new one this weekend.
