New on pg. 15 including Microvisions-4.4.2013

So I figure it's been long enough since I have contributed here in any meaningful way. Of course once you see my work you might think I still need to contribute in some meaningful way. I do have an excuse though; every time I try this I seem to screw it up somehow. This time I am determined. And even though my work is a little different, I'm hoping someone might enjoy it. I also finally posted a gallery. CA is a great place.

i love it. so odd and endearing. fits in well with the Ryden-esque, Juxtapoz kind of folks. cool process shots on your blog, too.

Yeah, I know it's not what we're used to seeing here but a new flavor now and then can't hurt. Thanks for the kudos and I've enjoyed the whole west coast art scene for quite awhile now, so Mark Ryden and Juxtapoz are right up my alley.

    More Illustrations

Here are the front and back cover, and some chapter heads, for a teen fantasy novel by Kate Saunders,"The Little Secret". I re-did the third chapter head, too scary, but liked it anyway. I did them for Feiwel & Friends a division of Macmillan Publishing. The novel will be released this Spring.

I just love this work! I don't know why you are worried about the 'meaningful' bit - the meaningfullness of this work is precisely what distinguishes it!
I'm absolutely nuts about the 'octopus thingy in the deep sea diver's helmet' one!
I also like the way you do not let your imagination be lead by vigilance of your style. Beautiful work!

Always Taking You to a Different Place

I finished this last night. I really like having little pieces of wood and masonite around me so I can do these while working on larger projects.

This is amazing, it's really really well done.
Quite a few of these remind me of some of Dali's work in a very pleasing way. The elongated legs is perhaps the clearest example
Also the bee/wasp reminds me a bit of the style of some of M.C. Escher's work.
Keep up the good work !

I LOVE the octopus lady and her glasses. The tentacles have a great specular quality. And your designs are very whimsical, I like them a lot. I also like your newest! The scale works great, love the teeth.
