Hi~

and my work.
Good Day all~
Beautiful stuff. I'm not sure how some of those skinny gals can hold those really big guns, however.
Love the woman with the gigantic gun. The idea would be even better if the weapon was attached to the armor, as some kind of appendix, instead of being just a big gun.
Like the big dead beast, too.
really like those little details you did on the general gives him some flair![]()
Awesome images, thanks for posting!![]()
Wow, very cool stuff. The airship piece has an epic scale to it. And chicks with big guns are always a crowd pleaser. In fact that seems to be a bit of a theme for you. Epic scale and chicks with big guns. In the fourth piece, the group shot around the walker, I really like the scarfed sniper. Something really stunning about him. The pose and rendering ooze attitude.
I struggle with the last piece a bit. There is a little pose awkwardness and a bit of flatness in the main character, but I can ignore that. Your skill far surpasses my own so I'm in little place to give advice there. My beef is with her weapons. I'm a real stickler with melee weapons. I know this in fantasy/sci fi art or whatever but, personally, my brain comes to a standstill when it comes to "taking the journey" in an image if the melee weapons are too off. I know this might sound weird after a compliment about a tiny framed lass with a gu she could probably barely pick up let alone wield, but bare with me.
Due to her pose and the path of the blood from her opponent it seems we are to assume that she engaged in a crosscut with both blades in a reverse grip. To do a technique such as this there are a few ways you could go about it. I wont bore you with the options, as many can be ruled out simply by context clues. In the way you illustrated it she would have to be doing a scissor like movement with a slash, not a stab, to initialize it. This would mean that the back of each blade would be first contact. While the foreground blade (right hand) appears to maybe have a bit of a tooth at its tip that could initiate a ripping wound the background blade (left hand) appears to be a knife, in that only one edge is sharp. Now, granted, it has a point, when it comes to easily cutting armor, flesh, and muscle it wouldnt have much of a cutting edge to work through those layers once inside the body. Nore would the foreground blade be able to submerge as much as the blood suggests, due to design as more of a chopper.
Which brings me to the design of the foreground blade. It is rather unconventional, which may be intentional. There may be some story behind the blade that I'm not aware of. Anyhow, it's design limits it severely. The hilt design suggests that it is to be used as a reverse blade as pictured or, to hold it properly the blade would be on the back side away from your opponent. This would give it more purpose as a jitte or sai, but without the benefit of a hilt that could engage and snare the opponent's weapon. The ornate design also appears to impair the ability to stab, though it does appear to have a bit of a tooth at the end of it. Sort of like the Shikai of Renji's zanpakuto in Bleach.
Overall it is a very specialized weapon for a fighter who would need to be in close range and need versatility from her weapons. I know a lot of people extend belief with this sort of genre , but I think it is important as a concept artist to consider these things. It shows a level of mental investment in your work that can set you apart. I really dig your work and look forward to seeing more.
Yeah! Or even a spleen! Ballistic kidneys are my personal favorites though
I like the images, though I would like them more if they were smaller. I think the General is my favorite. Some of the others are getting a little muddy with the colors. But good stuff overall!
Cheers,
