I think you should tighten up more of these paintings so we can really see whats going on. Some loose marks are very suggestive and it might be good to see if you can pull it off. Though you get the details in the portraits stuff but what about everything else?

Awesome stuff going on! The sketch in 759 is really delicious--maybe developing that concept further? The mood is already convincing.

I don't think there's anything wrong or unsatisfactory about your brush handling. In fact, I agree with your handling of the faces and especially the cabbage. The variety of brush mark sizes, directions, and shapes is interesting to look at! Travolta looks great too: the dotty brush on his skin is a good choice.

I think that the edges/silhouettes are poor in comparison though. Them seem more like a consequence of the brush marks, rather than working with the brush marks. The sketch in 759 is an exception, but some others I think are really calling for stronger edges/silhouettes. The cabbage is really interesting--and the color looks spot on--but there are brush marks hanging off and the shadow is rather unresolved. In 764, the fighter and the woman at the bottom seem almost there, but the crinkly edges look unrefined.

Shit damn you improved a lottt in a year though. D: Kinda scary! But in a good way haha.

FUUUUUCK I'm jealous of how good you are with colors lol

I think it would help if you made him look more angry and he's leaning a bit too much backwards I think. Hmm I can't really find much wrong with it. Finish it!

Nice Sketchbook man I can't believe I haven't found this yet! Or maybe i have and my memory just sucks. Anyways, the last illustration is looking pretty rad man, the pose does however feel a bit stiff, did you try out some gestures before really hammering in the rendering? It's still a bit early so a lot will be changed but one other thing is that the desaturated colors in the background would help strengthen the character a bit more if his uniform colors were more saturated. You're putting in the work though, so I'm sure it will be nice when finished up. Cheers.

Wow, I havent checked your sketchbook out in a while, and I'm glad I did!
This latest illustration is great! I love the composition of it I'm not really knowedgable enough to give serious crits, but one thing I see is that the main guy looks like he is leaning too far to the right, as if he's falling over. That could be my eyes or that it's not finished yet, though!
I also LOVE the portrait of the girl you did in post 786, you've captured the light and shadow of her features well!
You've been working soo hard since I last checked in, keep it up

    Damn that's a fine sketchbook!!!
    Insane work man!!
    Ok, you wanted crits so...:
Great work so far on that illustration, though I agree with the comment about him falling over, looks like he's dodging a blow rather than making a challenge.
You may want to revise his neck, especially where it meets the collar, very two dimensional looking there.
Nice job on the last B+W portrait, though next time you may want to consider doing it all together rather than focusing on the hair, then face etc. That way it should be easier to compare proportions, colours etc.
Now I'm getting deperate.... er... errr.... that cabbage needs more definition!!

    Truly inspiring progress!
    Can't wait to see more!!

Wow really good update! The colors are really convincing. Only crit i have is that his stomach area is kinda cylindrical and right arm flat. Props and composition look good so far. Hope to see this become an awesome piece!

personally i like the mood so i guess the colors are looking very good on this one.Probably what it needs is a better drawing base with some better anatomy and such. Also more refinement if you go totally for a high polished illustration. As a concept is lovely and well done !!!
keep it up wherever you are mate!!!
