    Noah's sketchbook

Hello. After lurking around for a while (read: wasting time at work), I'm gonna bite the bullet and put my stuff out here. I know I've got a long way to go, but I've been maintaining an "ok" level of skill for too long. I hope that getting my ass kicked here regularly will motivate me to stay on task. Here are some sketchy things I've done this year. I'd appreciate any criticisms y'all can offer. Thanks.

    Hi there

It looks like you're making attempts to break the body down into shapes, but without a clear structure underneath. practice making some wireframe anatomiesss ,and hope you post more often!

Some recent sketches here, including some work with geometry, posemaniacs quickies, and outdoor observation.

Not sure what hala meant by "wireframes." Kind of like stick figure constructions, or computer wireframes showing contour? I went with the former interpretation, but would appreciate any feedback.

Blind contours in sharpie. Getting caught up on trying to do these in one pass without looking, and being able to place different features. Also, if anyone has any tips on "planning" the drawing route, it'd be helpful. Sometimes I draw myself into a corner (end of a feature) and have to retrace out of it. Maybe the secret ingredient is that thing called "practice."

    btw they're all hands.

Sick at home from work, here are some charcoal still life studies I did last week. I'm quite pleased with the sphere, but I know there are things to fix. I'm going to work on solidifying the geometry later, though, as I'm sick and don't think inhaling charcoal dust will do that any good.
