    Nice updates.
I like the witch, but her legs look a little long and skinny and stiff. Maybe get some refs and change that up.
The vector death is very nice. I approve!
And sketches ine here? Something really new but your pencil rendering is actually quite good, so do not hold back on them!

    See you.
    Janos
Thanks, yeah I got alot of trouble with her legs for some reason, probably because the lack of ref. Trying to work from memory but it's not quite there yet.

Glad you like them sketches. Reminder to self to do more.

Saladfingers creeps me out. He/she is the epitome of freak so I actually am not looking forward to a 3d model of him/her.

I had almost forgot I wanted to make a 3d model out of him.

I am the opposite. He's one of my favourite characters. I love how disturbed he is.

Keep up the good work amigo, more pencils please!
Glad you like and thanks for the encouragement.

Dug up this old fella and decided to finish it once and for all. After trying out different stuff for the wings I simply removed them since I felt they didn't fit anymore, cropped the texture and added some new gear.
A fair amount of work left. Will do something to spice up the colors as well as get rid of some of the flatness it got going on.
Made a skeleton so it's ready for skinning as well.

    And a speedie...

The 3 D model is looking good. Is it ready?
The sketch is always nice, but the composition is bit boring atm. Try sketching some dramatic thumbs of this scene, from a few perspectives and then pick the one you like.

Sound like a good idea. I'll do it for another envioment I had in mind though, which I thnk will be much more interesting.

Some updates here. Posting ma concept for the "Bust a Move" comp at CGHUB and some sketches.
    http://cghub.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=81

Apologize in advance for crappy quality on them photos, but for the record you know I do some paper as well. Will fix the lighting next time somehow. :/

And hope you forgive me Janos, but I couldn't hold myself.

And some good news. Finally finished my oldschool character!

    Moar pics here:

    Here's the finished image/images.

I'm going away for two weeks so it might take a while before I post anything new.
I will bring paper and pencils though so hopefully I got some interesting drawings/sketches to show next time.

    Cheers!

Hey amigo! Really nice final product on that low poly model! How long does a low poly usually take you from start to finish?
Disturbing work on Salad Fingers as well! Those disjointed fingers are really creepy, and i really like the fact that the base of the model isn't a perfect square or something. Great attention to detail.

Hope you have a fun vacation or whatever it is you'll be doing for 2 weeks, I expect some good drawings!

Thanks. This project took about a month I think due to lack of experience and rebuilding some parts of the model. Building the mesh itself took just a couple of days/evenings. Making the diffuse was the hardest and slowest part. Learned a bunch of things though so I guess my next models of that kind will go faster.

    Glad you like Salad Fingers.

It regards work, so there will not be that much vacation.

Hey all. I'm back and got some sketches. Managed to get some done on the evenings. There´s a couple of pages more but those didn't et that good.

I'm starting to feel more comfortable with drawing on paper. Will do more, at least pumping out sketches for ideas n such.

And here's two from last weekend.

    Cheers!

Been mostly working on this fella since last post. Going to be diffuse-only like the previous character, but higher polycount this time.
Been playing quite alot of TitanQuest as well which led to my decision of making a character fit for a classic RPG.

Just wanted to assure you all that I am still alive!

Realised it's been ages since the last update, but I swear I haven't been lazy... or not that lazy at least.

To make long story short, I made some portraits on some friends, worked further on some 3D stuff, finished another digital painting and during the past one or two weeks I've been learning to paint with Acrylics, which is rather exciting since I have no experience whatso ever with real painting. Expect more analog stuff from me in the near future.

Oh, and bear with me on the last pic, it's very WIP. Any advice regarding painting analog is VERY appreciated.

Did some acrylics now. Not there yet but it's getting somewhere, which is good.

Again I have no experience with using acrylics before so any advice on that department is greatly appreciated.

    Peace!

    Hey AimBiz

Lovely portrait work. I think valuewise your colours are great, tha only nitpickj I have, and I think that is still one big problem, ist that your colours tend to either be oversaturated or very desatured in one image. Try bringing forward areas you want to show with saturation and push back the others by muddying the colours. If you only do one of them it tends to look a little flat. Experimant on though, you are rapidly improving.

    Cheers

Thanks alot for the feedback! I discovered in some old notes that someone mentioned the saturate/desaturate problem a while ago, I'd better sort that problem out then.

Okay so picked up texturing this guy again. Will only be the body for now. Might build an armor later.
Not 100% on what look I want to give him except that he's fit for fight. I leans towards either the more sofisticated high-rank general type or the scarred robbust warrior... with extra bodyhair.

You know what AimBiz? You are carving out a style that is reconizable to me instantly. The monarch of chow is pure Aimbiz, but you have come very far since the first few posts. Good job on the thumby as well. One criticism is that the final image is lacking some hard edges to focus on. You could have for instance sharpened the mask more.

Good job on all teh funny sketches as well, looking forward to more!
