Threw something new togehter this evening. Might complete it.

Noticing I'm having a bit of a difficulty stating everything emediately and instead brush around until I know what to do with it. Makes it kinda messy.
Need to work on that simply.

I'm feeling more confident with colors nowadays though. That's a good thing.

    Cheers!

Thanks Grandmassa! Now I just need to add more content!

Long time since last update and I will have to dissapoint anyone who cares that I haven't done any real drawing lately.

Been too busy finishing this dude.

    No specular map yet...

I need to make more 3D stuff for the folio but I think I'll make a small brake after this one so I can get back to those anatomy thingies I got started a while ago. Making some random thingies would also be cool.

At least the texture maps are 2D work.

Sure, I'll do it when I get the final presentation images done! ^^

So, dominancewar is over. I didn't place in top 25. Was on two of the judges top list and got a comment from one of them but it wasn't enough obviously.

But I'm pretty happy with being in the top 75 since there was over 600 contenders. Was way better than I had expected.

I also got the chance to submit a turntable. Please check it out and the other awesome submissions!
    http://www.dominancewar.com/2009/en_homepage.php

The level of quality was insane this year and I'm starting already to get excited for next year's competition.

    And back to topic...

Got started on this one this night. Might continue on it. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you like her, though she could definately be hotter. I noticed after posting that her jaw was pretty masculine, will have to fix that.

I guess this will lean more toward stylised but I'll have to play around with light more.

Ah yes, blue and orange works every time. Use that alot myself both in 3D and 2D. Want to get away from it a bit though, or at least tone it down.

Was tired tonight so I just did something random.

I'm kind of liking the idea, but it's helluva mess right now.

Hey there AimBiz, haven't seen you around for some time.
The last few updates are nice, I like the summery colours in the last one contrasting with the uber robot.
Also , the frog is awesome and I have the same belt!

Janos: Glad you like. About that belt, I got one too. ;P
    The same fabric at least.

On a side note, all the fabric patterns on his clothing n shoes n all are sourced from my own photos.

Okay, so got around doing some anatomy stuff. Excuse my scanner for making it look a bit crappy.
I think I will loosen up with the line work since they're taking a bit too much time right now.
The main motivation was to do something on paper, and as you can perhaps see my line work is a bit rusty.

I am so happy that I stumbled onto this thread. I have to say your Demon prince is totally mind blowing. I am trying to decide between Zbrush and Mudbox right now. Would you say that Zbrush is vastly better? Anyway you have a new subscriber.

JailHouse: Thanks man! I certainly will keep at it.

ForScience: Thanks you too! Personally I prefer zbrush. Haven't tried all the shaders n stuff in mudbox but I seem to have a better flow in zbrush. I think there's trials on both of them so you could try them out and decide later. It's good to know both of them though.

Felt for doing Alien today by some reason. Guess I first wanted to try gigerstyle but couldn't stay away from having alot of colors.

Speedie. Think about 2 hours. Probably shorter.

I will continue on this one.

Cool work on the Xeno, awesome to see how you've tackled different problems like the hips and stuff. Though I think you should bring back the clear section on his face where you can see a humanoid skull, I always thought that was a super cool design point!

Also maybe try some super hard, thin white highlights to give him that slimy alien look.

    Keep it up!

AustenFM: Thanks! I also like that part alot as well. I wanted to have it subtle but I think I'll make it clearer. Been thinking about the slimyness as well. Thanks for the tip.
