It is supposed to be "Character Design of the Week" right? Not illustration... so perspective, composition, environment, etc shouldn't be a factor. I was told that people don't enter if they have to do actual stripped-down character design, which is too bad. And I do see a trend of passing over some less skilled but very creative or innovative ideas in favor of a pretty picture. Would be nice if creativity won over beautiful a little more often. But as they say... life imitates art... and vice-versa. XD
