great work you have here.
I can already see improvement especially on those lines. the recent sketchdump was great, looks like you had a lot of fun doin these.
keep doing them.
jack black wip looks promising as well, nice colors so far his right eye looks a bit far up, though.
looking forward to more.
monotony Thanks man, glad you stopped by. Hadn't had any comments in a while, would love some criticism tho. Only way to get better

Hey dude - you're doing great with them copies! In your sketches, try drawing with a single line for a while - all the human figures look furry right now! You'll get there tho!
wow, nice work.you really get time and talent to do more better, look forward to your improvemnet
Erik Ye, I agree, my figures are messy as hell. I should do more posemaniacs stuff, and when I do. I'll try to make em look fluid instead of furry.
Rambolin Thnx, I'm looking forward to it too.
Here's some stuff I did for a band of a friend, it's a line up of the band members. C&C welcomed.
Hope ya like.

Some of your portraits are pretty killer, I like the chalk Aerosmith one. One suggestion while painting is to tighten up on certain areas of focus. If the painting is all treated equally in strokes sometimes it doesn't make it as interesting.
One good example would be Sargent paintings, where most of the polished focus is on the face and hands.

Pigeonkill Thnx for the comment, I think you're completely right, I kinda go over the whole piece with a certain amount of rendering. Instead of focusing on some areas.
The first is a thingy I started this morning. And I discovered I had no idea how a child's anatomy works. Or how their faces look compares to ours.
The second is a color study from the movie Snatch, cool movie.
And my first (color) portrait with paint.

A little sumthing I started, would love feedback.

The neck seems a bit long. For his pose you can have his head lean a gently forward for a natural curve. Right now his spine shoots straight up like an arrow.
I wouldn't mind a forest background.

Nice progress! Your paintings are kind of stuck in all middle values though. There's a guideline called Gallon, Quart, Pint (I suppose in metric this would be like decaliter, liter, milliliter... or something? not very poetic). Anyway it's a good rule of thumb that basically says you have a lot of one value, a little of another, and a very small amount of a third one. Whenever you're painting digitally you can zoom way out and then use a big brush to go over and reinforce these areas of value. You should be able to see your composition choices and make out what the painting is when it's only the size of your thumb (that's why it's called thumbnail).
Nice likeness on that jack black, btw, I recognized him right away![]()
Pigeonkill Tried to fix the neck, hope this is better. Was too lazy to finish.
nonie Thanks, I had a look at some of my digital things, and you're right. It seems I'm rendering lightning at individual parts instead of the entire image. Which makes it lack form. Thanks for the comment.
Here is what I've been doing this past month, I've been in america, so I've been drawing in my favorite tiny sketchbooks. Hope you enjoy.

keep working hard, it'll pay off
on your digital stuff, how big are you working? it looks like you are working mostly low res/small size. what I usually do is figure out how big I want the image to be for web @ 72 ppi and then just take that size and image>image size and change the res to 300 ppi. I also try to do the bulk of my work zoomed out so I can make sure the forms are reading properly. Like nonie said, u are rendering everything independently and from various light directions. You have to pick a spot for your light source, and render from there.
Texahol Thnx for your comment, I know I'm doing my rendering all wrong digitally. I just get caught up in the moment I guess. As for the size, the problem is that I usually go in without any plan whatsoever. I just place my pen on the tablet and see what comes out. But it's a good suggestion.
First things first:
a digital thingy I did at school, had some time between classes so I started drawing.
And more pages from my sketchbook, most of these are done during classes.

nice to see the progress,
and its good to see you getting more confident with the lines in the figures studies
keep it up!
Looking for work! ([email protected])
the jay and silent bob is a pretty sweet study man - loads of progress being made man, keep on going for it!
might be a good idea to think about varying your line weight a little bit - it can be really effective to add solidity and depth to your subjects.
jeff Lai Thnx, loads of figure studies this time ^^
Strybjorn Thank you, progress is what it's all about. Line weight sounds like a good idea, thanks
Loads more figure studies this week and some random doodles. Enjoy and critique!

Oh, and my first enviro. Trying to simulate depth with color and overlapping and shit. Would love some critique, the mountain colors are a bit off in the painting, they are more similar irl. The front mountain seems really grey in the scan.

Mag-Neo Thnx man
Okay, I'm trying make something pretty for this week's ChoW and would love some feedback.

nice imaginitave stuff in here and you made me dig out my old collection of doors cd's too so all is good!!
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science.
(Albert Einstein)
latigid Thnx man. Hope u had some good listening pleasure.
Okay, probably as far as I'm gonna take this week's ChoW. Trevor was so kind to rip it to shreds with crits which was a great learning experience but made me decide to see this week's ChoW as practise and move on.
So I decided to go back in time and do more ChoWs to get better and better and one day... make pretty pictures. So here's Death, for the Endless challenge. Still very much a WIP and I already noticed major issues with the right side body (his left). So.... critique away! Tear it apart, show me what you're made of!
Kinda dislike the mood, I wanted to make it look more peaceful. Now it just looks like the thing is killing the guy and enjoying it at the same time. Instead of collecting his soul cuz it's his job.
Howdy,
First, 2 pages from my fresh Sketchbook and some studies.
And then some more work on ChoW #157:
And some bad sketches for this week's ChoW Halloween theme

Still talking to myself it seems ^^
Okay, first some saturday doodles while listening to Frank Sinatra.
And then, today I got so frustrated with my lack of photoshop skills that i just grabbed my sketchbook and drew a sketch of frankenstein the old fashioned way. And I actually kinda like it, it's not the usual design, which is good imo.
So... crit away!
Hello,
First of all, some Hogarth studies I did yesterday. Discovered some cool stuff. The proportions are off on the single top view hand. But still learned from it, so it's all good.
And then, I rendered out my previous frankenstein sketch and Chris Sears gave me some awesome feedback on it. So I decided to compose a new character, thought of some components, threw em together in photoshop and then made a pose sketch. Next step, try again and again until it looks okay.

Hey man, I think the band lineup is your best so far. I think that is because it is kind of zoomed out and so the usual fuzzy outlines aren't that obvious. Work more on your edge control man
-E
Mischeviouslittleelf Hey, thnx for commenting. Ye, my edges are weak, I admire people who manage to paint more in planes and solid color/value, mine are often vague and messy. Guess I should work on that.
First some studies I've been doing, inspired by mr Delicious's boxer studies, his were much better tho ^^.
And then some more pages of my traditional sketchbooks.
