I'm flattered with all those kind comments.
Just about yesterday i did notice that i indeed come quite far being a totally self taught. Can't wait to get to the Watts atelier, but that's in january still more time to improve by then.

Again, thank you everyone, it really means alot to have such a wonderful audience.

Here are two painter sketches i'm slowly starting to learn that software it has many flaws, but i think i'm starting to pass the frustration phase. The first one is quite rubbish but i kind of like the second one.

I don't remember if you said, but did you apply to Watts yet? I still have to build
my portfolio for CDA, taking vacation time in July to just work. God, that'll be good

That pumpkin painting is incredible. Those dried grass fronds are amazingly deft!

That grayscale portrait looks great, great sense of form, great sense of character.
The only thing I would say is that the skin tones feel like they need an extra push,
    maybe a little bit darker?

On the guy with the hat and overalls: I think it needs a bit more layering/finishing.
The gaps and white 'canvas' showing through between some of the color blocks is
    keeping it from coming together.

On the portrait of the woman, feels like her hair should be a bit darker?

Keep it up man, great work! Lets see some drawings as well?

the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”

BludHund I'll be flying over to San Diego in early january 2013 for the winter term. ( well, most probably ) About those painter stuff i've noticed that when saving to jpegs it converts the color profile back to sRGB which is supported by web. That makes everything more washed out and lighter.
So i have to up the contrast and lower the gamma manually.

    kid_DEATH :d

    Sketcheiro Thank you sir!

Artezianin The colors are there you just need to teach yourself to know about them beeing there

Some ugly sketches both from life/ photos and imagination, plus some hands which are my nemesis. Hands are just so freaking hard to draw that it hurts.

    A profile shot from imagination.

Mix of "from life and photo" here.

    Some imagination crap.

Something different, landscapes plus freehand architecture.

    Haaaaands

    And a color study.

    Cloud study.

    Hi matey

Like the new stuff! that ladies hand is really good there is a good sense of solidity to it. I also like the painterly studies that you have started the door with the two planters also has a good sense to it, and It is really helped by the reflections off the floor.
As to my comments about your flying dragon thing on page 43, that's honestly what I saw in his face, have you never done that thing where you stare at abstract shapes and see faces, or cloud shapes well that's what happened to me when I looked at the thing and that's the feeling I got from it.

all the best mate and thanks for taking the time and posting all this stuff.

Your art is great! I really like what I see here man. The color study is great looking, and the Hagia Sophia is very pretty.

    Thank you everybody!

Here's something that i've never really did before. Digital inking.
It was fun but even tho it's a fairly simple sketch going out of "comfort zone" ( if I even have any, doh ) was a bit of a challenge.

Ah Pawel, I totally forgot to congratulate you on your birthday - a happy belated birthday to you!

The trad. landscapes look beautiful. Could you tell me which medium has been used? The palm trees came out great, I cannot figure out how you got that broad strokes.

    Thank you i don't feel like 24 at all i'm still a kid with a sketchbook x]

Well it's a simple Derwent HB pencil, with a blunt tip. I keep few of them in different states of sharpness just for those type of effects.

You've been uploading such great work, i don't know which to comment!
I like all your stuff you and danny did lately, really motivating me not to lose the wave completely, and trying to keep up with you guys even if only a little bit.

The pumpkin drawing from post #1312 is really wonderful.
Only think i don't see so much now is more courage in using those colours.
Get out of the comfort zone and lets see you use some out of the ordinary, what you see every day style. C'mon! I know you have it in you!

I love sketchbooks that have been around for a good while like this one, you don't often get to see the monumental improvement that comes with years of hard work like this.

    kevin_ Thank you kindly.

Danny_K Thank you! There's a phat update, so scroll down

Swiezy Dzieki, zagladaj na bloga albo tutaj, od czasu do czasu wrzuce nieco skromnych skzicow i malunkow.

razz Thanks, try to study painterly done pieces then, i can assure you most of the effect comes from a properly placed stroke and edge control. Simplify alot, work with planes.

catukas And so is your comment, thank you

BlackDelphin I don't believe my eyes, after a year of absence she's back...! :]

Mr.Pryminista Hard work does wonders! Thank you.

Pete Hidalgo Well to be honest second second half of 2011 was a total slackery from my side, yet i had many trouble at that time, issues solved well kind of.

SandyMan One cloud pudding coming up!

Ambiguity Yeah i know what you mean, I sometimes look back at page one and go through entire sketchbook every once or twice a year, it help to stay motivated and keep pushing to reach those goals, thank you!

So here's a fat update, was not slacking as you can see. ( some of those have poor picture quality and light reflecting the graphite making some areas feel dull, lacking contrast, thats photo fault. )

    This one's done in painter:

And i must say, i see so much improvement in here! Your pencil work has a lot of discipline in them,
in the strokes, love it! And that last colour study looks good.
Makes me want to ask you for some tips! considering my current work, what would you suggest ice?

the knight and the detective are good! I like the gesture and action in motion, very good.
The granny is nice too although her mouth seems a bit disconnected from the rest of the face I would maybe bring it up a bit and maybe use a bit less dark values so it wont stand out that much, you want to focus on the eyes and nose, mostly on the eyes.

Color studies are very nice and I love your use of custom brushes as always, keep it up bro. btw hows your health? food wise and all...
