These are fairly quick pieces - maybe an hour sketching and then two or three to color? Not really sure.
For the blue picture, I intended the colors to be simple, with details given to only the face and skin. Not entirely happy with that, I think I should have done more with the suit. I do really like the way the face came out though and the pose in general is pretty satisfying, given that it was just from my head.
The red picture was meant to be a companion to the first, sort of, or at least done in a similar manner. I like the way the skin came out, but I think I'd like to work on developing a more painterly style like a lot of digital artists have. I tend to have some trouble really tightening up the details on my pieces, so that needs work as well. I think more study of anatomy will help with this - I have a good general grasp but end up fudging things a bit in some instances, I think. Like the first one, pose and such is totally out of my head, so it's a bit wonky - the right arm in particular is bent oddly, I think. I left it as it was because it's mostly just practice and I was more concerned with the coloring than anything else.
At any rate, feel free to rip into them. I'm trying to work up to pieces that could be put into a portfolio for concept art jobs. I really enjoy trying to put form to all sorts of ideas...
