great dedication man, you have some pretty solid advice flowing through here, master studies, and clean up those lines, really try drawing and rendering without going crazy over the paper try to look at the forms in smaller parts, it will help you render cleaner
keep it up man

good work, keep sketching.
Hey there! It's really obvious how hard you're working. You might feel a bit more encouraged if you start at something simpler, though...have you checked out Idiot Apathy's Peer Project or Bumskee's Digital Painting thread? You'll find the basic shapes and techniques introduced in those threads really helpful for rendering much more complex subjects like people. Also, for training your eye, a beginner's text that a lot of people seem to love is Betty Edward's Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Hope that helps!
Goodness gracious I come back from a 4 day hiatus and am ambushed with positive comments. Honestly I'm flattered.
Notti- Thank you, I know I need to get rid of the chicken scratches.
Jedi-thanks alot my friend! you keep it up as well, you "over achiever" XD
Sandeepbarot- Thank you my friend!
Courtyard-Oh, well thank you so much for the encouragement tips/links I will definitely look at the first too. "right side of the brain was never my thing" I have a similar book however Which I will be mauling soon!![]()
Couldn't get any serious work in, or any of my traditional yet.
But, here is a small one in the mean time. (sorry Janos :-P)

keep it going man, but watch the line quality it is still sketchy, and messy, try contouring with only one line
and I am hardly an over achiever, the people on here own me every day
keep it up man

More shitty scribbles from a rainy day, minus the rain.
my Internet Games are getting to me, at least they give me Inspiration if lack of motivation (I didn't word that correctly I think).
Sigh![]()
*waddles off to pretend to draw*
thanks for dropping by my sb man, .....wow man im seeing major improvement with your recent posts... i'd suggest to try hit up and sketch some casts, they really help to improve observation and sight seeing
... great to see you're working hard, keep at it man
!!!
Good to see you are working hard.
I think I am with everyone when I say try to clean up those lines! Draw lightly if you aren't sure.
A lot of your faces lack structure, I think you need to work on making sure you put that in from the start, even if it is just a few lines to figure out where the eyes should go, ect.
polipol- Thank you for your advance and encouragement my friend! :o)! question what is a cast ?
Blythe- Thank you, I know it's a habit that is hard to quit! Hmm, I will work on that. thank you for the advice :o)
I will like to see some new style of your work.
Hey CA, been drawing and not scanning, so I will update this bad boy probably around wensday or so!thanks for the comments and advice all!
hey zeus12
I am totally seeing some improvement. The faces are getting better, but one thing I noticed, something I do, too, is that on some face-on portraits the right eye seems to be higher up than the left one...
Check it.
Hey ive been looking at your drawings and there really good!
im a newcomer and ive always wanted to be an artist i will hopefully one day achive this goal i havent started my drawings yet only a few old ones here and there and i think il step it up
Nice work

You're on the right track. I'm getting the impression that most of these studies are from other art or imagination, if that is the case one thing I recommend is drawing from life more and really looking at your subject. This will develop your eye and help you see relation ships between shapes and make the anatomy come easier. Other than that just keep drawing.
Thanks willtiggety, I'll try that some more while I'm in school before I dose off z z z z z zzz.......![]()
Just some more stuff I did in my sketchbook, been dozing off too much . . . . z z z z z![]()
Great progress, Zeus! I love that portrait that's on the left-hand side of the fifth scan down in post 39.These latest scans are fantastic, too. Your progress is scary good. At this rate, I can't wait to see where you'll be in a year's time.![]()
Haha, well thank you very much courtyard it is a pleasure to hear such lovely things!I'm currently drawing very much, and I haven't had time to update my CA, Expect some more stuff in the coming week.

Ugh, still been sleeping like a cow. I'm clinically in a coma, There is no other explanation for my tiredness. z z z z z .....
P.S. for my numerous fans (probably 2 or 3 ) I've been drawing a bunch in me ol' moleskin but I have yet to scan anything in (blame the coma). I'll try to launch a larger update this weekend. But, for now I give you Stinky Caesar!

Hey Zeus! Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook man!
You're improving a lot, that's for sure! When I look at the portraits from your first posts and then look at the more recent ones, they're a LOT better, really! Nice to see thatMaybe try experimenting with a different method of shading? I have always been total crap with shading till I recently started drawing with a 3B pencil (in the past I always used an HB or pen etc) and the 3B works so much better for me when I look at my shading... Unless, of course, the shading with the lines is your preferred style, which doesn't look bad either in the later ones! But when you're going digital it might help you to experiment with a different kind of shading.
See you around!
Thank you Cranberry for your kindness, and advice.
just another horrible, sketch.
I sleep too much, and my mind wanders down to much useless paths.
zzzzzzz.....![]()
zzzzzzz...... update this week coming up (I ain't sleepin yet)
Necrooouy.
The profiles are quite nice, there is some meat missing at the back though. The expression is nice though. Are you going for realism? If yes, you should study some more. From foto and life!
Getting better!
