    Amy's Wannabe Sketchbook [new page 2 1-18]

Most of these are small projects and doodles, not much right now but just wanted to put something up. Definitely not as diverse or conceptually astounding as many of the other galleries but I'm working on it.

I'm an animation student so a lot of my work gravitates towards that sort of direction. I may get off my butt and scan some stuff from layout classes.

Sorry for the clutter I have NO IDEA how to work with this stupid attachment manage thing. Once someone explains I'll clean it up -ugh-

    Good stuff. Do more.

wannabe sounds passive like watching and not acting. It's like trying, you could spend forever trying.

gonnabe sounds like you never get there.

    gottabe sounds aggressive and active.

Lol thanks I have more but a lot of it is on paper and not scanned yet. I haven't had much time to do "other" art because I'm spending all my time working on my senior animation.

Once I graduate I'll probably have time to submit other items but for the most part I don't think most of the work I'm doing (business cards and the like other than the senior film) are pieces to submit to CA, I dunno.

You go get ter tiger! Or you'll waste your paren't money.

Lucky I'm in a safe place, I have a feeling I might have missed some teeth if I wasn't. But it's kinda true if you think about it.

Don't make us beg for art eh?

thanks. Lol i use the more humanistic ones as a way to slip into practising human anatomy more. Most of my sketching is of animals I never really had a passion for drawing people.

So far, I see no problems with anatomy, proportions, etc. However, I would recommend that you broaden your horizons.

Hey fellow SS'er, it was nice to recognise some of the work in this forum.
I love your animal sketches in particular (especially the crowned dog and sugar glider) and the latest sketch you've posted is very nice as well. Look forward to seeing more!

    Yay.

Your creatures are quite cute, my favourite piece is that gorgeous navy/black raven design though, the texture is nicely understated and it's really a stand out. I also love the idea of that many bells in the girl's hair, she'd have a very musical walk.

That's actually what I have been trying to do. I have a problem with drawing humanoid creatures easily. Most of my work before this is all quadrupeds and the like. I've spent most of my life drawing straight up animals.

I like how successfully you've managed to bring such different colours together, although you might want to watch your tonal values, because the dark colours on the snout and the indigo element in the background have quite similar grayscale values which I think is making it look a bit flat. I mean, I don't mind flat looking images if that’s what you’re going for (I love the super-flat style) but visual hierarchy is something to be considered. Still love your work though; it has quite a distinct personality.

Oooh, those are gorgeous. Although I think there could be a little more line description of the curve of the cheek/jaw on the (viewer's) left side of the character's jaw. I know there's not always much shadow there, but it just looks a little unusual to me.

I still love that inky blue textured colouring of the raven.
I also really like the way you've represented the smoke overlaying the bird, it's quite cool.

Hello fellow SSer ;D Neat anthro stuff you've got here~

Suggestion: try varying lineweight a bit more? Heavier lines on shadowed areas would look great I think

Trying to work on colouring, my light sources are way to all over the place and I find I make my pieces overly bland/ muddy but practice makes not as crap right?

Also more chibis, don't kill me I'll try and post these from older to newer. It's been awhile.
