    Ack. little green men.

Kinda goofing around with this one....anyone got a good idea for a mouth? Also, Does anyone know of any good tutorials or DVD's based on creating photorealism? I'm on the lookout for anything (short of enrolling in school...got the money, just not the time.) That'll help kick me a little further on. any info would help. Thanks everyone!

    Hello there,

I'm not really one to give any tips on photo-realistic rendering, but I think i can impart a little general art wisdom anyway:

That sucker is a uniformly saturated green fella. Nowhere does the green get any less vibrant, or more grey. Nor does it ever shit slightly towards blue or yellow. Look around on the forums for artists who are good at painting (or even photos and the world around you), and you will find that there is all kind of shifts in color when depecting an object realistically.

Also, when your shadows go to that extreme black, it kills any chance for you to show reflective light. Bounce light isnt the answer to every problem, but it does help to portray form.

I hope You'll excuse the piss-poor paintover I did, and hopefully see the points I was trying to make. I tried to push the lit are more towards a warm color, and included some severe reflected orange light to show how it can push a form out.
