    ARSEDanik Doodles: 2009

Fresh start for a new year! More color studies and variety, I promise you this.

Watercolor, pastels, acrylic, prisma pencils. About an hour or so, 4/5 inches in h/l.

Started off as a quick doodle, became more detailed, still have only spent 2 or so hours on it. Still have a lot more to do!

@Bill: Thanks very much! I adore and miss mixed media.

@Bill: Thanks very much! I adore and miss mixed media.

I know what you're thinking, "crass shock value!" But that's not the case here. Despite the obvious racial connotation within this piece, I am in no way racist and I would like for people these days not to be so politically correct, in fact, this character is part of a short graphic novel I'm working on that depicts everyone in a racist, yet surreal manor. I came up with the concept while re-reading the Braer Rabbit Stories of my youth, and loved the hilarious version Disney did of the tale. So all the characters pertaining to my graphic novel are inspired by folk art and themes.

This character, not named yet - is of course, the depiction of most stereotypes associated with the Jewish lifestyle and beliefs.

    Lightbulb:
The light bulb symbolizes his vast knowledge that assists him in his schemes. It is constantly lit.
    Crow Wings:
Stand for his foreboding personality and the fact that some Jews have a pantocrator visage about the way they hold their body.
    Lion Tail:
The lion's tail stand for the snarky attitude Jewish people are associated with so his tail constantly twitters in agitation to other people’s thoughts and beliefs, but becomes more vibrant and erratic when truly offended. It also symbolizes their brazen personality and strong will towards anything they wish to achieve.
    Flesh:
The skinless torso and legs stand for their ratty disposition and association to fear and lack of strength. However, like the clever rat, it physically symbolizes their slinky and sly ways.
    Moss:
The moss symbolizes his steadfast belief in tradition. It grows on him and he refuses to get rid of it.

I'm going to color the other characters in my free time. It's all a work in progress, but I'll work out the kinks as I go along.

Sketchdump! Mainly a mix of life studies on myself, objects. Mostly fanart. And a crap doodle from a photo of David Wain.

Nice sb! some of the pencil works are amazing, especially the boy who is eating a chocolate bar.
On the last anatomy study, check out the hump. Camels don't have muscles on them, because it's some kind of fat storage. If it's not a real hump but the spine curvature, the shoulder muscle should go straight to the spine. About the cranium, try looking at the skulls of cows, deers, sheep and other hervibores. Anyway, nice concepts and sketchbooks!
    Keep it up!
