I used Artrage for this one:
One from today.
Went to Victoria and Albert Museum today. Didnt have time for the face and hand.
Looks like you have some good solid drawing. Maybe you can find a way to get better scans? Keep posing, your work is good, you will get more responses.
Wow. First comment. Thank you very much Bill. Any crits and suggestions are more than welcome. Next time I will try to dio better scans.
Used Artrage for these two.
Some pencils:
the right breast looks pretty off, I can't tell if its the shape or shading, or a bit of both, most of the figure work looks great. What type of 3D stuff do you do normally? I'd have to guess character modeler by your understanding of muscles and proportions.
Thanks ZacD. Yes I am mostly a character modeler.
Another visit to the museum. Not the best one - lots of mistakes but next time better.
these are really good, keep it up
i need to go to some museums me thinks and sketch some stuff
Thanks. Yes museums are good place for sketching.
Another one from today:
Used Kevin Levron as a reference:
Some more sketches. Sorry for the horrible photos.
Not many comments. Maybe I have to start drawing monstersDont really want it.
The firtst one is from my last visit to V&A Museum. The dog is quite old. The hippo I drew on envelope![]()
Hi Vlad! Really, really nice work. The last image in post 17 is so simple but so beautiful--definitely one of my favorites. The V&A is wonderful, isn't it? It looks like drapery is something you feel a little less confident about--maybe you could try sketching some of the stuff in the V&A's incredible costumes exhibit? It's obvious that there is a lot of diligent study behind your work.
Hi Courtyard. Thank you for visiting my SB. You are right about the drapery. I need to practise. V&A Museum is a good place for that. It seems you've already been there.
Started this one today. Done in Artrage. Reference used. C&C welcome.
quick PS touch:
Some progress on this one:
study - Artrage:

Hi Vlad--Excellent ear study. I wish I knew more about anatomy so that I could give you some pointers, but unfortunately all I can say is great job! I'm not sure how I feel about the birthday girl drawing. Her expression is really interesting, but I'm having a hard time connecting with the rest of the image. Is she meant to be dropping the cake?
Thanks very much Courtyard. You are right about the girlI just used a greeting card that was given to me for my Birthday. It is just a girl sitting in front of a bd cake. I liked here expression so I painted it.
Hi Vlad, you have some good basic drawing techniques, but you might want to work more on your line quality: try to suggest volume with variations in line weight. Experiment more with shading techniques as well: you seem to go for the photoreal approach. Try some more hatching and stuff like that (like the in sketch from the hippo). Keep going!
Bartovan - Thanks for the suggestions. You are right about my lines. Will work on them.
Here a portrait I did today. Again Artrage- reference used. Hope to work more on it.
great start mate, you got big potential, I see you understand the human form and this single pencil line is something really greatone point about the hatching - if you use hatching in one way direction you will find how consistently will the drawing be and how the volume will pop up more than this cross hatching - sometimes the crosshatching kill the for and flatten up the whole image, about the bd girl - well looks good for start but her construction is wrong, fix her left arm - looks bit odd, don't try to render everything in the beginning, define the light source, build your values (you can use bigger brushes to help you out) and then go rendering, the ear study looks really great (some polishing wouldn't hurt, but it's a study), last one looks great, express the light more, in this stage I can't define where the light is coming from? you got skills just practice hard!
hope these shits can help you
ПОЗДРАВИ!!!

Thanks for the feedback Peter. Really good points. I've always liked one way direction hatching. Will try it. About the girl - yes I have to fix her anatomy, it is all wrong.
your figures and animals are great! and i have to say, that ear is awesome. keep it up!
