Just started to re-watch The Batman series, I had forgotten just how much I genuinely liked some of the things in it. It gets a lot of flack basically for not being Batman: The Animated Series but I appreciate that the creators didn't just try to mimic B:TAS (and if they had tried that, the fans would have given it flack how it's still not as good) but rather did something little different.

Also after seeing that trailer, I really have to watch The Objective now.

I think where The Batman shined the most was in it's character designs.

Just watch Book of Eli. Liked it.

Going to see Ghost Protocol this week. Looking forward to it.

And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

Girl wit the dragon tattoo-Don't bring a date or watch on a full stomach. It's not for the squeemish. Still pretty dope though.

Batman Year One-Batman begins with Bruce Timm and Frank Miller. It should actually be called Commissioner Gordon Year One.

Hanna-The Bourne Identity meets Little Miss Sunshine. It's either just as awesome as it sounds or as bad as it sounds, depending on if you can accept it or not. Personally I dug it.

FUBAR: Balls to the Walls-Shit is funny. It's like Trailer Park Boys.

I´ve been on a samurai movie binge since december started.

My top favorites were definitely Harakiri, Samurai Rebellion , Kiru! and Sword of Doom.

Last ones i saw were the 6 Lone wolf and cub movies.

Skiing ninja showdown: Wether you are the kind of person that thinks something like this is really awesome or really silly will determine exactly how much enjoyment you get out of the saga.

The 6 of them all look and feel great, its full of violence and sex but very well presented and full of iconic scenes, kinda reminds me of James Bond movies. worth the watch, or i would have stopped at the first one. Its like a good cheese burguer, may not be the most nutritious thing , but its still very tasty.

Any good samurai films with dub that you can recommend? I suck at subtitles. Especially Japanese names and references.

There´s Shogun Assasin, which is a mix and edited version of the first two Lone wolf and cub films, i can assume mostly the second one. Shogun Assasin 2 is the japanese third one think.

Yeah, the references can get confusing sometimes, i often don´t remember the names so i just read the first sillables if it looks complicated and try using it like nicks.

I haven´t watched any dubbed movies, except for a couple of Kurosawa´s in spanish, and the voiceovers were allright.

I´d say at least with his you should give it a shot even with the subtitles because it will be most worth it. Kagemusha, Ran and the Seven Samurai are my favorites.

Is the second Lone Wolf and Cub worth watching? I know Akiji Kobayashi is in it, at least.

Lone wolf an cub are stylish action movies, if thats something you can enjoy for what it is, then sure, i´d definitely recommend it.

From the six of them is the one that stands out the most, not necessarily the best for me but it is the most memorable. It has really iconic stuff.

Worths mentioning, its also the most graphic and the bloddiest by far, kinda goes to eleven with that.

I used to watch the Zatoichi (blind swordsman) movies allot. They'd be on tv every weekend. I swear those films really didn't even need subtitles because the stories were so well visually conveyed. It's pretty rare that a film can do that.

I'll check out the Shogun Assassin. If your into lone wolf and cub, check out the manga. Some of them are retranslated by Frank Miller. Some of the concepts still flew over my head on occasions.

Shogun Assassin might be the only dubbed movie I prefer to the original subbed one(s), a sound choice.

I actually watched all 6 of the Lone Wolf and Cub movies in an epic all-day marathon many years ago, that was an unusually wtf way to spend a Tuesday..
I loved them but then I would..

Hanna-The Bourne Identity meets Little Miss Sunshine. It's either just as awesome as it sounds or as bad as it sounds, depending on if you can accept it or not. Personally I dug it.
    That's a brilliant description, I'm stealing that.

    Even my mum loves it.

It's predictable, it's cliched, but it's also really, really well done, watch it if you get a chance to do so..
It's at least as good as "The Fighter" but nobody saw it because Christian Bale wasn't in it... although Bane from the new Batman film is..
Nick Nolte should win "best something". But he probably won't.

Charlie Brookers recent effort "Black Mirror" is kinda disturbing, but only because it seems oddly prophetic. UK people can get it on 4OD, everyone else can..explore the internets in a legal way? Episode 2 is bang on.

I found out Zatoichi movies are on youtube so bookmarked it and started watching the series before going to bed for these last few days.

The classic Zatoichi is quite a likeable character, some of the charm and personality seems lost in the 2003 version, still that one was also kinda fun.

I´ll try to read some of the manga sometime, seems like it was a big deal and meant a lot of influence when it came to the West, that would help explain why a lot memories from my chidlhood seemed to somehow involve ninjas getting trashed.

I haven´t watched shogun assasin yet but i did noticed the ost, does have some swag to it.

For me the only part i didn´t quite enjoy from the lone wolfs has to be that scene with the female ninjas on the second one, and it was because i was eating peanuts at the momment and for a few days i couldn´t taste one again without picturing a chunk of nose falling o the ground.

The 4 hour PBS documentary of Jack Johnson. Unforgivable Blackness.

Interesting stuff. It goes up and down from funny and endearing to REALLY depressing and/or disappointing. I gotta watch more of these.

They also used Jelly Roll Morton's Black Bottom Stomp multiple times. Good choice.

I still can't tell if I liked that movie or not... almost too artsy for me, I suppose.

Just watched the first season of Sherlock. Not too bad, I had low expectations, but it really delivered... I like the fact that Sherlock has a blog and uses the hell out of his cell phone (or Watson's, for that matter )...

It was amazing.. like a storybook brought to life.

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides
This movie wasn't disappointing because I didn't expect much. The visual elements were fine..though some dramatic moments were missed. The part that bothered me was the fact that the second half of the film was basically Ian McCaigs' Gnomon video on storytelling.. only in PotC instead of space. I actually sat through the credits and did some searches half expecting to see his name.. but nope.. just some guys ripping his concept :/

Incredible movie. I regret putting off watching it for so long.

The other day I finally finished Kamen Rider Den-O. It's definitely flawed, and the tie in movies are almost all pointless (and there's 8 of them), but the characters were as fun as I had hoped when I watched the OOO crossover months back.

Yasuko Kobayashi did much, much better when she wrote OOO, but I still enjoyed Den-O despite it's flaws.

    "俺参上!"

I watched a little bit of Fourze, but I'm far from up to date. It's surprisingly decent. I was expecting the franchise to hit a slump after OOO (Compare Den-O and Kiva), but I guess not. Fourze actually has Gurren Lagann's screenwriter as the head writer. That's interesting.

Speaking of OOO, Hiroaki Iwanaga is gonna be the voice for Guts in the new Berserk movie. I don't care about Berserk but that's interesting as well.

A few weeks back, but I finally got down to watching Blade Runner. Oh my God, what an awesome cyberpunk movie. Everything I'd ever wanted from one, I got. Harrison Ford as Deckard was amazing - so young and so able to play the hardboiled cop and yet, so vulnerable in the last third of the movie against Roy - and Rutger Hauer was beautifully expressive. Whole movie just reminded me of Night City from William Gibson's 'Neuromancer' novel and Syd Mead's art and art direction is mind-blowing.

Whenever I next get time, though, I'm gonna check out Dark City. That one looks nifty as well.

I finally watched Naked Lunch. I have heard about it for many years. Without researching what it is supposed to mean, I interpreted it to relate to addiction:

The giant insect imagery seemed to relate to the parasitic qualities of addiction; and for me personally, some of the disturbing, dreamlike visuals that I would get from the DT's.

Aside from the crazy scenes in the film, a lot of it bored me, to be honest. Still worth checking out for profound weirdness.

Currently watching Charlie Jade, which only made it to one season (which kind of sucks). Very interesting show about multiverses and corporate control, and it gives off that Blade Runner feel. It took a couple of episodes to get into it, but definitely worth looking at. They do a lot of interesting, subtle dialogue and camera moves that I rarely see watching movies/series now.

Been watching the latest season of Torchwood. It's not as good as I remember it... I wonder if it's because it's gotten worse or just if my memory's bad. It's still pretty fun, but most of the dialogue and plot points feel pretty dumb.

Just watched the orginal Rollerball with James Caan, not the shit pussy-assed brain dead remake.

Man what a movie, real witty and those rollerball matches, now -thats- violence, you can really feel some of those blows. Great stuff.

The original Night of the Living Dead. Good movie.

I actually watched it with Rifftrax. MAYBE a bad move for my first time actually watching the movie, but it didn't detract from anything.

EDIT: Just found out the actor who played the first zombie died this week.
