I've browsed Conceptart for some time; I found inspiration and help here.
Finally I decided it was time to post some of my works here.
To receive comments, critiques, tips and help to improve.

Here's a little speedpaint (I'm pretty new to speedpaints...I tend to detail too much and don't concentrate enough on main shapes; that's why sometimes I try to train using them).

bah thre is nothing wrong with working from another source. its how you train your hand and imagination to work alone, id be lying and so many others on here would be too we claimed to without inspiration or reference. i think if you worked soley from refrence or other poses it would show in your work but ou dont seem to have that your work looks as if it has alot of your own personal responce and imagination in it. keep this up and keep the faith!

What an enjoyable walk it is through this garden of yours. I note a sense of compassion which I have for your style. I wish pictures showed from the thread so I could review them as I type, but yeah.. you have good compositional sense, I dink. Isolated images are so dreary and abandoned, such short lived care an sad utilization; what you have submitted to me displays a care that goes beyond mere study... for the most part.

I find myself wondering how quickly you work.
My impression is your speed varies but you can excel any tempo. Ah.. I may just be recording wandering thoughts but you impress me with a since of natural talent. Like.. anything you do would be traveled a little more delicatly beyond superficial... if thats a clear expression to understand at all.

Um. The hands look epic. ...That eye sheet..! I would be concerned that they were judging me as I drew more. Ohh... but why the female for most of your studies? Just curious. Ah, and now I recall one of them was in pink, huh. I like that. shrug. In in case, you would produce some interesting work with color, blahblahblah. I feel like saying this is nice but almost like you know.
ideas:
1) I say try new techniques often with varying amounts of imagination, referencing, approach and subject matter..

the watcher and the dedqueen piece are really pure awesomeness and those studie are so cearefully! love everything in here...and the grayscale...that' just the right way to start, it coudl be a pretty nice scene, would liketo see more of those! I prettymush like eerythin in here xD

First, let me say.. WOW, lots of feedback! ^_^ Thank you!

The Ham yes, I agree. I don't have a lot of possibilities to draw from life, since I can't go out of my home a lot (panick attacks, 4 years now, working on it but my time out of home is still little) and so references, being them photos or screenshots from movie, are a big help. I like to draw from movies because it's a nice way to "emulate" how life looks; I mean, you have the possibility to see people in action, but also some particular things you woldn't find in the real world.

Doomsupporter thank you for stopping here; I really like your sb and your lines, so your comment is most appreciated. And don't worry...me too I'd need more hand/feet/head/and whatever studies ^_^

About the time I spent on my sketches, it can go from 40 minutes to 1 hour. I'm not so fast with sketches. I use to think a lot to every line, details and such. I need to speed a little I guess :p
I draw female because...I don't know why exactly. My work has always been introspective, a way to show my feelings, so maybe that's why I?m used to draw girls. Men are a lack for me; I'm starting to draw them just now, and I'm really dumb at this! LOL
About the coloured piece...I found that old crayon, of when I was a child. And I thought "yes it's not a pro crayon, but it has a history and I like that colour"...and so I used it, as a play and nothing more...it was funny and I love the result!
I will go more in that field.
My first memory of when I was a child... at the age of 3, my mum gifted me my first drawing equipment: a sketchpad, one with a stylized geisha on the cover, and one of those ballpoint pens...the ones which have 10 colours in it and smells of fruit (LOL). This is my happiest and sweetest memory of my childood. The meeting with my first love, the drawing ^_^
Yesterday I went out and buyed one of those sketchpad. It's sweet to see how, 22 years later, I so love geishas!
I'm managing to find the ballpoint pen.
I think I will try some coloured ballpoint hatching exercises. And I think it will be funny!
...and...be careful with spiderwebs and pixies! ^_^

Hello.Welcoming you here would be plain stupid as Im a fresh fish my self . I like your line and the faces sheet is pure ownage all of the work shows very comic-like style and I like it .

Im in no position to give any advices since im a begginer, but my thought would be to build the characters with shadow and light more and less with lines. These female characters constructed with strong lines bring up those nasty Marvel-like characters I realy dont like...But thats just me

I understand what you mean with "Marvel like characters" and I feel the same
I'm just focusing sometimes more on the line in order to understand it better; a good line will support good shadows....or so I hope! :p

Hi Alice! Nice start to your book so far. You do a nice job with those poses from reference and studies. I like your expressions and know that those can be pretty tough. Do you do any drawing from life? It's really good exercise. Keep Postin, and have a Good NeW Year!

About drawing from life, I have some difficulties due to the fact that I'm not able to exit from house, so I replace it frequently with "semi-life drawing" from movies ^_^

The victorian styled woman is my last drawing of 2008. From imagination.
The mechanical baby is the first born of 2009, and maybe I've learned something new about line ^_^

I decided to post here my work for the GcTalk Steampunk Challenge.

I'm pretty stuck on the hair; I need to render it in a soft, curly way, and I still can't find a way to manage it in a good way.

Any suggestion and help and critique is welcome... ^_^

Lovely drawings!! I especially dig the full body characters, and your last update.

What I really would suggest you is to study colors. Get some ref. from faces, persons, clothing etc. and recognize the differences from your imaginary stuff.

For your last update, the drawing looks awesome but your use of colours and shading / rendering the final painting has lost some of its initial power.
To get a more realistic result imagine a light source (one or more)!!!

Xaya, you are perfectly right...the colour is my big problem in painting
I'm studying the theory of colours, and looking to master's artworks...I'm improving but the road is pretty long ^_^ And honestly I don't know what to study, I'm still looking for a good book/tutorial or whatever ^^

Kingostas yeah the pencil is far way better than the painting IMO too...my ability in painting needs to be improved a lot.
