Damn, I'm so curious about your sketches, would somebody of you, lucky guys, please, make a photo of his own shinie for me, please? Whatever, put there waterprint!
Strange powers drag you through the black tunnel until you see mysterious Book of Void awaiting you.

I don't know what the guy said abouth Rich's sketch but I can figure out from Jason's and Rich's reply that he wasn't satisfied. That makes me mad a bit that one of the 100 limited copies got to someone who can't appreciate it just because he had the money to buy it. I missed the limited 100 by a day or two. I was waiting for a paycheck. I would honestly kill to get Rich's original pencil sketch even if it was the size of a match box. But I have to hope to get my hands on limited copy of Vol2 if there's ever going to be such thing.

Question ... is the Volume 1 subtitle just a place-holder for possible sequel in far far future, or are you guys actually working now on part two that can come out in 2009 or early 2010?

PS. I also got my Greg Manchess link yesterday and the video is great, I love it how calm and centered he is while painting and sharing his wisdom. He really seems like he's 100% focused on his work. I admire that a lot - really inspiring lesson.

JasonM, is it too late to submit my own request? I've not received a tracking number yet
Sorry, i didn't mean to imply that they actually took my request, it could have been a coincidence. In my order comments i hinted around as to what would be an ideal sketch, nothing in particular. I'm guessing that it was a mere coincidence that i ended up with a sketch that matched my "hint". Sorry Jason if you're now getting an influx of requests! my bad.

I really hope you guys don't take that shit to heart. If it's necessary for you to have to explain the value of a sketch from an artist, or justify the level of the artists skill, well, then they just aren't getting the big picture. Paraphrasing what someone once said, "Don't pay any attention to critics. Don't even ignore them."

I wasn't even criticizing the art...it is very cool, I just misunderstood what I was getting and that it was just the style of the artist. I am very pleased with my sketch and I now hold it in a new light. It was my mistake for expecting something else, and I have already apologized to the artist and Jason. After looking up the artists work in the book, it has become a lot more clear that what I have is indeed amazing.

Just to be clear, not once did I criticize the actual artwork. I was upset about the size, because I had improperly assumed the sketch would be the same size as a page in the book. I don't know why I thought this, but after having received an explanation, I have retracted my negative comments.

The book is great, Massive Black is great, my sketch is great, and the artist that made it is great. I have zero regrets about my purchase and feel sorry for all those who weren't able to get in on this.

For me, my situation is different:

    Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on January 16, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

According to my email: A package with a Click-N-Ship label created on usps.com containing the following information is scheduled to be shipped on 01/16/2009.

I have been speaking with Aaron who has been very helpful since I also reported another issue to him. I wanted to put a word out as a person who has a situation with shipping your staff has been very good. The only slight problem for me (which is a minor annoyance) is I'm getting nagged by Yahoo to rate you, when I haven't received the product. I'll be sure to put in my honest opinion when it happens.

Again, thank you and I'm looking forward to the book. I've already seen it in store as previously posted.

I got my mine yesterday. It is awesome! I really like those character designs by Nox and the tech section. If anyone has not purchased one yet, I seriously recommend getting it!

I got mine yesterday. I only got it at 2 am from my mail box though, right after work. Needless to say, I haven't gotten much sleep. Also, to everyone, I got mine without ever getting tracking info so they're on their way. I wish I had also known we could give 'hints' for the sketches cause who doesn't love chicks with big 'things.' But, I got a super awesome robot so I'm happy.

QT Melon You emailed Aaron about issues having to do with the Massive Black vol.1 book? I just want to be clear on that before I throw an e-mail to him about it.

Please do not email Aaron about book orders. I'm sorry I have not had the chance to respond to you all about where your books might be at this moment.
You should all be receiving your books very soon.
Ok I'm going to get back to shipping your books now.
    :-)

    Thanks,

    Scooter

    Thanks,

    Scooter

    My apologies.

I believe I should clarify. I had spoken with Aaron about other issues (and asked him about the book while he was helping me with that issue) I was having and I wanted to put a good work that Aaron went above and beyond in helping me than what was expected of him. I didn't want to imply he was the contact, since Jason Manley and Scooter have both said previously to contact Scooter for book issues.

I just wanted to name Aaron for his help, not list him as a contact for the Massive Black books. I think he should be thanked publicly for his help.

Please do as mentioned in this thread and contact Scooter.

I just received my book today, so this is one happy kitty to see Massive Black Cock :o

I don't have cool sketches, but I have a nice page of autographs. I don't know who everyone is on these signatures. If someone would claim their signatures I'd appreciate it.

I got my book today and naturally it's awesome. No surprise there.

But something piqued my interest. On page 78 one of Whit Brachna's paintings is described as "...for the Massive Black Production Art series of digital tutorial videos." What is that? Any way to get my hands on it?

I'm not talking about the "Mountain Environment" download that's on the opposite page.

I like that you drew inside the cover, I was expecting like a sheet of paper to come fluttering out. THANKS once again, you made me very happy!

Saaron - Thank You! I was trying to use process of elimination to figure out who it was since all the sketches are done by artist featured in the book. Found Kemp's pages and he was my numero uno suspect! lol
