    Lend me your thoughts

Hello Everyone..its been a minute since my last post. FullSail is keepin me real busy ,but now im FINALLY doing something else besides school work! I did this silhouette real quick, trying to flush out something. In a nut shell, a guy is sitting on a hill ,back turned towards the foreground holding a pair of pistols and looking at a city in the distance. I think its ok and I know whats going on with the character but can you guys read it? im still messing with the city adding stuff but I dont want too much to the point were the focus of the character is lost.

    any thoughts........

I'm not clear on the figure's silhouette. Are those his legs or is he sitting on some sort of bench? Also, your floating island is listing severely to the left.

My character is in a kind of crouched position.. he is suppose to have his elbows on his knees....now that I look at it I think that maybe his body should be lower to show that he is actually crouched. his knees could be closer together.........The city is leaning because it is about to fall over...I need to add debris and some other stuff to show that it is crumbling down...

Yeah I think your silhouette needs to be more detailed if it is in the front. Right now it has the same amount of detail as the background elements, maybe less.

Why is that floating island falling then?

That floating island is about to fall because my character has pretty much destroyed it.

i know it's a work in progress, so i'll really try not to be the CC shmuck i usually am... if i do that, my apologies in advance...

i'd like to comment mostly on your character:
although the siluette was hard to read, i have a fealing the detailed version is even harder. in the siluette, once i knew the background story of it, i would have mainly said he is sitting facing US, not the city. but as a pose, the crouching works much better to my opinion then the character sitting on a rock, as in the detailed version. (please notice the butt anatomy there, kinda wonky...can't beleive i just said 'butt anatomy'..).
i really think you should get the pose first, with correct anatomy, and then dress the character up. regarding that, the head peice is unreadable in both versions. i really don't understand it, how it is dressed on the head and what is its purpose. try do a little research of armours and helmets of all kinds, even historicall (spl?), so you could design it more precisly.

    hope this helps!
    Noa K
