My57 - Hi Sam. That piece was done in a program called Al.chemy, a really cool piece of software (and the best part is it's free!) and that sort of style comes really easily with it.
Here's the site you can download it from- http://al.chemy.org/
and here's a link to a thread in the lounge that you may find interesting too- http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=132177
Hope that helps, and you really should down load it, it's great fun!
NoodleDoodle- Hay Noodle, thanks for the encouragement mate!
Some doodles in Al.chemy, some studies and a couple of moleskin pages (Keep and eye out and you mite recognize someone...) and the awesome Colchette!
cheers
matt
Nice Alchemy stuff you have there.
Those portraits from the WDELL thread is really fun to see though, as several of the people we kind of "know" after all the pictures... ( *cough*... Stoph... *cough*... ) , hehe![]()
Clochette and Spaz looks like, but Stophs is really great.![]()

Have you tried a grey marker with your black/white pencil/brown paper? a 60% and 20% grey marker or so goes very well with that combo of materials![]()

Matt, lovely new work! That last of the girl in the skirt is a beautyGot a real old feel to it, the brushwork is simply lovely. I'd love to see you do more studies like that! The silhouettes above are looking damn cool as well. Keep this up, buddy, loving it!

hey man
thanks for dropping by the sketchbook.
The last whitaker study is pretty sharp. I think there is something about the proportions that makes here seem like a 12 year old rather than a women.
might be the hips anyway
maybe do another one but really study the tones.
anywho nice work keep on trucking xD![]()
good stuff here! and you're only 1 year younger than me......i need more practice..
been a while, matt! and you know, I think you've improved quite a bit in that time. sillos are looking rad, those facial features look stronger and the latest study is mint! the flow of the material and clean sharp shadows looks SO GOOOOOOD
KEEP KEEP GOOIING
and cheers for the lovely words of Jason. s'just what everyone needs![]()
What an overwhelming lesson to all artists! Be not afraid of absurdity; do not shrink from the fantastic. Within a dilemma, choose the most unheard-of, the most dangerous, solution. Be brave, be brave! - Isak Dinesen
Your stuff is looking real solid. Looks like all the studies are paying off. Keep it up!
