I like these. What is the duration of the poses? I have myself enjoyed the opportunities i have had to work from longer poses. Recently ive become more comfortable with drawing from photos which obviously allows one to draw indefinitely. I like the way you organize your values, that will certainly be helpful. I'd like to see you applying your knowledge to imagined drawings; the little i have seen from you shows some very cool ideas. Keep going and dont forget to have fun!
Hi jason and thank you for your comment... I draw on more longer poses now...maybe 20 minutes...but sometimes I have the feeling that draw quick constructives lines can be more efficient...a bit like this one
I need less than 5 minutes to draw it....
I have no real way to put values on my drawing, because they are quite tall so i begin on a part then i continue on another one...i try now to have simple values on very large parts from head to toes with a single value then i put a large shadow....I'm not sure if it's a good way, due to the fact there are no crosshatche to give the sense of volumes.
maybe is it just a different way to draw...?
I think it's quite hard to draw from photography because it's not as full of life as drawing from......... life...
But you're right.... with a ref drawings are always more interesting...
That's very nice. If approached it properly something like that could be refined to a beautiful finish without losing its vitality. By longer poses I actually meant in terms of hours. It never interested me much until i started doing it, but it's lots of fun. Yeah, I dont prefer drawing from photos either but thats not too bad either when you get used to it. It's good for when you need a reference or a subject that you cannot see in person. Keep up the good work!
try to find a good way of coloring.....i spent maybe 4 hours on this one....
tutorials, help, etc...are welcome...
Hi there! Thanks for commenting on my SB ^^
I don't have much advice to give because your drawings are really good! I LOVE your pencil drawings. Perhaps to mix things up a little? Use a little more creativity? I'm not totally sure what your artistic goals are, so my advice might not be too useful.
For your newest piece, keep in mind that in real life that objects reflect each other's colors! If you look at impressionist paintings you can see a more extreme version of how color theory works.
Keep up the good work! :]
letsgopangolin : you re right i looked some impressionists paintings in museum so it is what i try to do. The main problem i have is to draw quickly with PS as i saw on different tuts, so the way of drawing i d like to understand is for example the one of dave rapoza and i just discover a lot of tuts by him on youtube))))
Continue to try different way....
it's always very long to draw. I spent a lot of time to put some colours. Results seems much better anyway....Comments are welcome, crits to..
Hi manGreat your doing life drawing, your line drawings are good but your rendering does not help the form. I'm not sure what the lighting situation is on your model hopefully its not soft annoying lighting but you want to try and just separate the lights and darks into two defined groups. http://drawpaintsculpt.com/wp-conten...ont-Page-1.jpg - See how this is split into 2 values at the start, light and shadow and looks solid because of this split. Only much later are all the midtones involved, this will have been a very long pose too.
So thats my main point, keep the light and dark very separate and you will see much more solid figures. Also your paper looks quite rough maybe try something smoother to keep the edge between shadow and light more defined.![]()
thanks a lot for this usefull comment and for this great example....
too many hours for a sketch...anyway values seems quite good....
Comments and crits are welcome, thank you.

hey man ur awesome thanks for the comment, diggin your life drawings keep it goin
SKETCHBOOK any crits are welcome
SKETCHBOOK any crits are welcome
J'ai beaucoup de travaille de compo, mise en scene, textures, couleurs...
sketches and different try to improve, don't know what must be worked differently...
i try to : work quicker,
have better defined shadows and lights area,
have cleanest gradient,
more interesting poses,
have better volumes...
i need to add textures.
just want to improve...but only make shit....
Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook and giving me that tip!
I think your figure drawings are amazing and I hope one day I can reach that level.
Please keep it up![]()
EBI : Thank you for your comment, and I hope I was really helpfull for you.
Now I don't care about how to draw, I draw, and i try to go faster, I think technics will come... So here is the result for many hours of work....
Comments and crits are welcome. So don't hesitate to give me your opinion....
I try to draw a space bug, so I find the result ,even if it's not finished, quite interesting. texture is not bad and light is nice too.

J'adore vos dessins. Je ne peux pas parler français bien, donc je suis en utilisant Google Translate. Où êtes-vous?
Est-ce logique?
Does that make sense?
Thank you for this kind words, and thank you to write french, you can write English i'll understand.
Where do I live ? In France, not so far from Paris.
Does that make sense ? yes it does.
-I tried to look your sketcbook from your signature so the url is not valid anymore.- OK now it works ! ^^;
