This will hold my new stuff (and force me to do new stuff hehe), but for now there are mostly old things.

    Hi!
Humm you asked me advices but I don't know what to tell right now! Your life drawings look really nice, and the watercolor piece shows that you are already confortable with it... Maybe colors now?
    Great job really!

Ok! Hummm maybe the Bluefooted tuto can help you first?
I don't proceed the same, exactly...
I use paper textures, (layer in color burn mode, 45% opacity most of the time) and use textured brushes, very simple, natural media brushes, looks like charcoal : ) ) Then I make masks on the texture layer to add or low the opacity of the texture, depends where I want it to be stronger or softer. And some parts I paint over the texture too... Depends!
    Hope it helps! ^^

Beautiful update. I love all your nudes, but that skeleton, and that crab are my favourites. What type of paper and pencil did you use to create these? Just because I'd really want to learn more about pen and pencil drawing - I just don't really know what are the proper tools for this.

I've bought the papers in Hungary, and these were made a long time ago, so I don't really remember. I've found that the good papers for graphite are the ones that has quite some texture (something that looks this stripy, like linen), but not as much as Aquarell papers. And I've always used 2B or 3B pencils. Smooth surface papers tend to make graphite look very slimy, and too textured paper can make the values not unified enough. There are very different opinions about paper/pencils though. Some can work with very soft pencils really well.

Thanks for the vote in Endless CHoW. Very nice work so far - you should keep posting.

When I compare the quality of what you've done in post #12 with the CHoW work you've got in post #14, I'm tempted to say you should use more reference for the CHoWs. The CHoW work is good, but what you've done elsewhere is even better. Is that a time thing or a reference thing?

Love the comic work at the beginning of post #15.

Just saying Hi, and some new drawings

scottmcd: You are welcome. I don't use much reference for the things I'm doing in Chow because I would like to learn painting/drawing without reference as well. I think that's my goal.

psantha: Thanks haver. Thing is, I'm pretty slow with making drawings, with the workplace being about almost the same thing, but I will try my best. Still, it's hard for me to make a daily sketchbook.

Thanks for the critique in the green fairy thread. You mentioned that that the background looked like it had been done in a 3D program. It wasn't, but I used paths to define the areas and make selections, which resulted in that look. It bothers me too, and if I keep going with it I'll repaint it properly. Same for the wings, which I did in Illustrator.

I quite like your second version - good work.

Great variety of style going on here. The studies look great, the skeleton one especially, and the prints are really trippy. Sorry but I'm not much of a critic.

    New Chow

I will try to sketch more and more, I need the training. There are some people's sketchbooks which are a great inspiration to me, they just seem to practice so much, I feel like a lazy bastard compared to them.
