ok, figured some people said that before, but have to point it out again too, your life studies are really awesome!
The black and white huging figures, are they for salt and pepper or is it "just" decoration?
(you have them on page 5 or 6 and in another still in a composition)

I like girl in post 179, though there is a differences in the eye level and eyelids closed differently. But i like how you can already do quite abstract and fast painting, but very definitive.

Also an advice - try to do still lifes faster. I mean spend about hour-two and then stop. First of all, by putting yourself in such limits you'll be able to paint fasterm and the second - you'll gain ability to analize what you see faster, and when that happens - you'll understand light\shadow and will be able to render "from the head" with a good quality level.

@ oren90: Wow dude alot of crit, me like
yeah you are right i might have gone a bit overboard with the smudge, havent really used it before so im just playing around figuring out how to use it best.
    Soft edges: already on it
yeah her shoulders are slanting rather alot, and those goddamm eyes
thanks for the crit man it´l help alot

    @ Eddieee: thanks alot

@ Trutze: Thanks im glad you like them
well apparently the are for salt and pepper never been used for that though :/

@ Seraph Fawkes: hehe yeah oren90 mentioned that aswell seems i messed those eyes up good and well
Lol now im really liking you most people say i should slow down and finish things up, but yeah i agree with you on the good points of speed painting from life and studies in general

great stuff man liked the enviro a lot and the pine apple too, one thing to say is that you need to do a study without regarding the time but the compeltion of the study, your quick ones are already quite good and you handle them well, but your finished work need more attention, get out of your comfort zone and break the routine of only doing quick studies, hope this helps

    cheers

I like that top enviro, great atmosphere. Good to see personal work, also have to train your imagination. But I have to agree with Oren90, it would be really great seeing some more finished personal images not just speedpaints, they are really good already

Ditto what Oren and jskotte said. The pineapple does look pretty awesome! (I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out what the first still life is though! )

You consistently make me feel like a lazy bum That's a good thing! Keep it up mat.

If it's truly 15-20 minutes, than it's a good work mate. Enviro looks strange... Probably not shaped out well. When you doing some straitgh structures hold down shift button. Also, if you looking out for an idea try to play with Alchemy programm - I bet it will boost your imagination )

    Hi there DK sketch.

This is first time i've seen your sketch book. You've made amazing process! It's cool to see how much studies you've done and how enormously they've helped you. It's very inspiring. Now I feel I also have to start making more still life studies. At the first glimps can't find anything to crit. Just keep it up!

Damn man, so good so fast I would maybe suggest steering away from using Algenpflegers stuff as reference but to be honest you seem to be doing that anyway Your colour stuff is just crazy man I love the really saturated tones some really lovely pieces do you use different blending modes like overlay ect much?

    Keep it up man!

Very nice work. You seem to be being more careful of the bgs and it really makes the entire piece look more finished. I also really like the boat painting! The use of complimentary orange and blue is well done.

@ Seraph Fawkes: wuhuuu stars thx man. Glad you like the boat piece, im gonna start doing more from imagination now

@ alexson: hehe nice to see you are still going on strong alex

    @ Vatsel: thx man

@ jskotte: thanks glad you like it. I actually ended up dislikeing that still i thought the reflections came out a bit to strong :/

@ Myllys: In that case welcome to Myllys . thanks a lot, and yeah just get down and dirty with some still´s

@ Fetsch: thanks, glad you like them

@ Gthm/death: thanks a lot man, glad you gain inspiration from it

@ Architaylor: thanks man, and yeah I use overlay, but as a brush rather than the layers. I always work on one layer
I only use the overlay brush to make fixups in the end though, so you have a good eye to spot it

@ Pixie Trick: thanks alot pixie, im trying to get the still´s to look more finished so i guess it´s working out
glad you like the boat piece

okay update time gonna start having some more time on my hands now so expect more regular updates

youve got a nice style, i love those tiny strokes, they give a lot of texture. if i look at your "doodle thing"-portrait, i think you should study some heads and stuff. the face looks good, but it doesnt connect well with the head......

Awesome updates man. Nice still lifes, and that boat is looking sweet.

Great start on that new character. But the angle on the head and the jawline looks slightly off...

We should do some OC-painting some day.
