Nice updates! that superlady looks awesome! great work with getting that floating in the air feel on her, only crit I have is that her head seems abit small. I also think that Red Riding Hood character looked better before you added the background, It dosn't really fit into the scene because you have adapted the values for the white background. I used to do the same, but then I started to always paint the backgrounds first. Great work on batman too, though the cape looks a bit too stiff.
your crits are most precious! well, actually a few things that you said, i already had them in my guilty conscience. the one thing you've said about the back ground is really important for me. I was trying to find out what the problem really was. i'll work more on it now. thankyou so much. really important advice. i'll work on the cape too. i think its also ruining the composition.
a crappy study of my cloth lunch bag. dont ask...

under observation: a plastic bag with a bottle in it.

doing great!
next step is to try taking one of that type of study a step further, try to blend the colours to get the smooth transitions in the areas that have them, but keep some transitions abrupt when its really like that.
Really awesome sketches as always! reminds me that I should draw more from mind too
really embarrassed about the anatomy... but i AM working on it! honest!

hey man youre doing awesome! great work on the toyboss and these characters! that last hat is amazing. you're really working hard on these, i shows. mechangel girl, toyboss and mechahat, continue along these lines you are rocking it
and your anatomy skills have already noticeably improved, from the batman up to the knight on the horse![]()

the plastic bag studies could use some help. try to simplify it before going into details. thats probably all i can say![]()
Lovely work, your value studies in pencil are very strong.
Wow, many updates around here!
I like your digital work in the caricature and the toy boss a lot. they may miss some contrasts, but I like the clear colours. Not bad as a basic for more to come =) Regarding the still lives you may could take some more time. Observe the colours more and how the edges work. I know it's not the fun stuff, but your personal work will improve a lot if you can use experiences from the studies.
aks9 thanks man! reading that feels awesome! yep, i've been trying to improve. i havent done much digital, and need to do alot more. but there's one excersize i really need to do, and that is custom brushes. i'v got to put in more of that. thanks for the kind words!
James Thomas yes i know. I'v really left it in a very initial stage. i wanted to attempt an exersize where i wanted to bring out the texture of the object using solid brushes. to get a look close to reality, i need to put in alot more time. but you ARE absolutely right. thanks!
CarmenJudy Carmen, getting a compliment from you is a big pat on the back! you are such an amazing artist your self.
Valyavande oh yes, i need to put in ALOT more time in to my paintings. that's exactly my biggest flaw. i just try to do stuff too quickly. like the toyboss, i really want to give it a very rough metallic feel. so i'm collecting some refs to see how that is done. i just posted on your thread about the solidness of brushwork. i try to get that alot, but i need to do alot of studies to get there. thankyou so much!
a few more while passing time before getting off from work...

Nice sketchbook.Think your pencil rendering could use a bit of work, it looks rather messy IMO. Still, you're doing pretty well, and I adore the blue woman's face, you've captured her expression well.
Umbravita yep. you most certainly are right. i think i dont put alot of time into my pieces. which is a bad habit. plus some times i'm trying to copy some really good artists and end up not really getting there
thankyou so much!
