Hey kasblue, portraits looks nice on first two, somethings odd about that figure though - i guess u need to workout with drawing a torso a bit more. I'm a bit envy about ur shading skills, its great. Post more! Good luck!
thank you pijus!! yeah, ur right. i've been working on anatomy now and i hope to improve. i'll post some of those sketches as well. the problem is that i dont have any teacher here, i just learn from the great artist here on CONCEPTART.org
you should see my shading skills before i joined here... hahaha... awful and horrible!!!
I dont have a human drawing teacher either, its all in the books or ca.org, well its not a problem to me.
I was just checkin out ur sketchbook... and its just given me a huge inspirational boost!!! the way uv improved is magnificent!!! awesome work pijus!

thank you stevan. yes, definitely the anatomy. i'm trying. thanks again for stoppin by!!!
here's a study of David's head, by the great master Michelangelo!
i'm working on more... i'l upload them later... learning... i'm getting alot of help from Alwyn Crawshaw's 'ultimate painting course'. this book has taught me tons of stuff, but i'v got a loooong way to go.
i really like your anatomy studies. well done. where do you get your reference from?
thanks HAnsen. i'v got a book called 'Body parts' by Simon Jennings published by 'North Light Books'. it doesnt have very clear or big pictures as its a small book but still its very useful.
i'v just started doing oil paintings. they are definitely not as easy as i thought they would be. but they are sure loads of fun!! i'm trying to learn their application through books. and another watercolor plus a rough study of Michealangelo's pieta.
a study of drapery. just a drawing of a cloth on my chair. the other is the first enviornmental painting i'v ever done. it was a black and white picture. i did the colors from my own memory. i think i should have used refrences
i know that i'v just done very little of concept art in my forum, but i hope once i get better at drawing and coloring, i'll start it. just a few very quick sketches i did while waiting for my 3d rendering to finish in maya.
thank you!
just a few things i drew while waitng for a scene to render in maya
You may also be interested in downloading Bridgman and Loomis books for figure. Otherwise keep doing studies, and good luck from one art student to another.
"Remember, there are things which you are in complete control of: How hard you work, how quickly you grow (this is closely related to how hard you work), recognizing opportunities, and taking advantage of them, what you know, and what you learn, being a great student with a curious mind (this should last your entire life), your willingness to share, to be taught, surrounding yourself with more talented people, more driven people, etc., committing to you goals and embracing them as part of your lifestyle, etc." -Hundley Sterling
Anytime, just keep the art coming! If theirs anything I can do to help let me know :]
