I've been lurking on CA for a while now and thought it's about time I started my own sketchbook. I'm hoping that having my own thread will make me draw more.

Gorgeous portraits you've got right here.
On the Asian girl, I believe her eyes are out of alignment.
Here are some portrait studies done in photoshop and 2 Chow entries. Comments and critique are much appreciated.
Enydimon Thank you. I thought there was something odd about it, I checked out the reference and you're right it is out of alignment. I'll have to fix that, thanks.

nice portraits..keep it up!
You are certainly off to a great start on your sketchbook! Glad you decided to stop lurking and show us your work.
Beautiful portraits!
I was cleaning up my desk and looking for some sketches I could post here today. I thought I didn't have enough stuff to show, that being one reason I didn't start a sketchbook sooner, but it seems between the 300 or so pieces of (s)crap I found a few I wanted to show. Most of them are from the past week some are a little older.
Here are some anatomy sketches. Most of them were referenced from posemaniacs.com (expect first 3 and last img). I tried a few 30 sec drawings, but that didn't last long. I want to study anatomy a bit more before I attempt the 30 sec drawings ( a bit too fast) again, I'm more comfortable with >90 seconds. C+C is really appreciated.
On another note I should really organize my images, it took me a long time to port them, and there are still more, but I'll leave those for another time.
Edit: scanned most images.
Dan Valkar Thank you!
oomgawa Thanks! I'm glad too, this really is a great community.
Ulver Thank you!

fantastic sb you got here, your style is pretty slick, and all those portraits look badass. keep up the great work.
To live is to create, to create is to live. Without art and music, I do not know how I would get by in my day to day life.

Wow. Those portraits are stunning. I think I like your b/w work better, though. I think it's cuz there's more value contrast than in your painted ones.
My favorite is the second one down on this page. It's just awesome. Great work.
thesadpencil Thank you.
Matt001 Thank you. Color isn't my strong point but I'm working on it.
Here is a drawing from life I did tonight. Also a watercolor tiger, it's in color but it doesn't photograph, maybe I'll have to scan it. And some sketches

nice paints keep rolling on!
Nice start you've got here.... with your traditional sketches, try to vary your line quality up some... more thick and thin, dark and light, delicate and strong. It will make the line drawings a lot more interesting.keep it up!!
Nice work, great start, please post more. With your talent, you shouldn't need motivating. Thanks for sharing.
Reject-D Thanks, I will!
BohemianChaos Thank you, I'll keep that it mind from now on
doncamThank you. If only what you say were the truth.
Here are some more sketches, some older than others. The first one is a sketch of the gorgeous Adriana Lima, done in summer vacation. The two middle ones are from imagination and the last one is a posemaniac exercise.
Now back to sketching...
Found some more sketches, 2 from imagination, an older '07 sketch and a Glen Kean's Beast study.

nice work, mang. keep a eye on porpotions and in your digi paints some hi key lighting could really make em pop. Keep em comming.
"Good composition is sort of like pornography. You know it when you see it. "
Love the work, especially the rough sketches and gesture drawings. And props to the Beast fan art. One of the greatest animated movies ever.
I love your CHOW entry, the study of the glass jar, and your over-all handle of photoshop. This stuff is looking good.
I second what bohemianchaos said. A little line-weight variation does wonders for a drawing.
Also, Disney animations for the win. I know too many people who subscribe to the Disney is commercialism at its worst is undeniably horrible school. Were those people never children? Nice beast montage... of all the sad bits. Ah well, his sad face is so nicely exaggerated how can you not draw it?
Kaffinated Thank you. Yeah,I noticed I draw the head too small sometimes among other things.
TheGreatAges Thank you. Yeah I totally agree with you, it was the first movie I ever saw in the theater, I was 2 or 3 at the time, and I still remember, it was that good!
langrh Thank you. I'll be working on the line-weight definitely.
Disney is what got me to love animation and drawing so much. I can understand people saying it has sold out, and in some degree I agree, they don't make them like they used to...
Niku Thanks you, are you saying I should post some bad work (I have tons) or post stuff I'm not good at, like inviro's, buildings etc?
Here are some chow sketches that never made it past the sketch phase. Maybe I'll finish them some other time, I see some becoming OC's. Also some random girls.

localfatheaded Thanks!
alshakno Thank you
Study of a sculpture by the amazing Philippe Faraut.
It doesn't really look like the sculpture...kind of screwed it up.
very nice shading, just the hair is bit out of sync for a sculpture(in my opinion of course)
nice work, like your portraits and sculpture study
alshakno Thank you, I didn't spend all that much attention to the hair, but I don't think it is hair though, you can see the original here http://www.philippefaraut.com/gallery.php?id=24
maeshanne Thank you
I've been busy with school lately so I haven't been drawing as much as I would like. I need to finish some paintings I want to submit to a magazine, the deadline is Dec 15th and I must finish them, so I'll be busy with that next week.
Here's a sketch I did in pchat, about 15 min's
Now for some shut-eye...
very nice sketchesill keep an eye on your sketchbook
cheers!
Grafguy Thanks!
Working on another black/white portrait.
This time I'm using the airbrush tool with the hard brushes, which I don't normally do, makes it easier to blend. I just need to watch out not to make it too blurry. I'm not sure what to do with the background, but I see a bird-like shape, so maybe I'll play around with that idea.
I would really like some critique on this one, thanks!
A little update on two portraits I'm currently working on. I'm a little lost on how to continue the first one, not sure if want to her to have a hoodie, or make that shape her hair.
Those are some really nice portraits! I like the Philippe Faraut one, even though it kind of looks like a sculpture. Keep at it!
Iddi Thanks
It's been so long since I last updated. I've Been busy with school exams, but I had vacation and time to draw again.
Here are some new and some older sketches.
1.This piece was inspired by the movie "7 Pounds".
2. A robot I'm currently working on. I'm learning a lot with this one.
3. I'm having problems with her left arm a bit on this one, especially the hands. I wonder what I'll fill it in with, maybe flowers and vines.
4. I always have problems filling a page. Usually when I sketch I take a new paper, or to warm up grab one that needs to be thrown away...but this sometimes sucks, because then I'll end up with something good surrounded by crap.
5. An older piece that I totally forgot about. I was going through my sketch map and found it, now I'm really inspired to draw some more.
6. Older piece. A character that I've tried many times to make a finished illustration of. I'm really into drawing armor now, and I'll try to make a new one where a girl isn't half naked lol.
7. I didn't draw this. A sketch I made my sister do last year. Me and her used to draw a lot when we were little, but she gave it up after a while. If she would could continue I think she's be really good.
I would really appreciate some critique, thanks!
