Love the portrait, really expressive. I'd have a look at the anatomy of the spaceman though, his torso looks quite wide.

It was an attempt to foreshorten, failed, but I learned what I need to improve. Thanks for the comment.

This last landscape is a big improvement from the previous I think. Not nearly so soft and with a pretty good measure of tonal contrast. I'd wager one was from reference and the other from imagination? If so, I'd say keep at the reference, to keep building your visual vocabulary. If they're both from imagination, then I'd say stick with this latest technique.
