ZhouPeng: thanks for the compliment. I still think I have a lot to learn though in terms of color, but hopefully I'm getting there!

Quasi-almost: Thanks! I never thought of my characters as being simple, but now that I think about it, I guess they are! I really don't like excessive ornamentation, maybe that's why?

Cerasela: awesome, it works now. Site looks great, bookmarked!

Wow, it is now 1:23. What a bizarre occurrence. On another note, I have art!

This is probably the most "illustration" like piece that I've done. It even has a background!

And finally that goddamned waterfall. I think the civilization living on the edge of the waterfall will have to be wiped out by some sort of natural disaster because I really can't do buildings.

Hone: haha, thanks. That's digital. I'm so lazy with traditional nowadays, so I don't think I've touched actual oils in a long time

Whoa, that's an amazing kettle/teapot thingy...can't begin to crit that.

You've got a strong figure too, but the girl here has her right foot twisted too far outwards. It's a nice exaggeration to have the foot sweep out like that, but I think it's pushed a bit too far there.

This was done for an assignment about "staircases."
We used foamcore, which is probably the single most annoying material to work with. I also burned myself a lot with the glue gun while making it

Then after we finished our staircase model, we made collages based on them.

These are some rough sketches for an upcoming playing card series.
Basically we had to pick an art movement and then illustrate three cards: a number card, a face card and a joker.
I'm sort of doing this weird mix of poster art/pre-Raphaelitism, and I'm illustrating figures from Slavic mythology

Cool stuff, really digging those latest studies, especially that metallic pot one. Those last card illos are looking good as well. Not sure what to crit, some of your faces seem a bit off though, like they're not centered. I know you're doing them in an anime-ish style, but they could still be done with some more realism, would really help the overall impression imo. Keep working!
