    Sketchbook (Take Two)

Hello all. Basically this is a mindless sketchbook that probably won't be updated regularly, but please look and critique

I'm impressed with how clean your lines are. Can't see anything that looks wrong to me, so there.

AztcFireFlower: haha, no that's not me. It's actually reffed from a photo of Aoi Miyazaki, who is a Japanese model.
I will try to keep filling this sketchbook up-hopefully weekly updates from now on!

JeanShade: Thanks! No, but I need to keep practicing feet. Toes are evil to draw

    DaStreets: Thank you!

amoolie: heehee, that's my pinup girl

PieMonster: more is on the way!

well, my meager offering for now; will have more tomorrow.

nice stuff you have going on here. I'm not good at art yet so I cant give any helpful crits. Just try to understand the form/contour of everything you draw. Wire frame master studies and learn perspective. A most overlooked book is rapid viz by hanks and belliston buy it.

My favourite piece has to be the girl in the stockings: I love her expression! Your pencils are very confident too. Keep up the practise, and structure even the littlest of sketches. Good luck!

This is a really nice sketchbook. I love the clothing folds. Are those studies mostly from life?

Euphemism: Thanks! Yeah, I need to work on structure more, haha.

    Kasper_P: Thank you!

Festival Bobcats: Thanks! Yes, studies are mainly from life. My teacher told me I needed to do more stuff from observation, so I've been trying to sketch from life whenever possible.

Well, sketches from this week pretty much suck...

    ewing: Thanks!

My scanner was being a bitch today, ugh.

By the way, does anyone ever spray their sketchbook with fixative, etc?
Because I try to keep mine from smearing, but it always does, no matter what I do.

And, another question: how do you attach a thumbnail??? I've been wanting to change my thumbnail pic for ages...

The last (or first?) image attachment in the first post of the thread will be the thumbnail.

I spray my sketchbooks sometimes too, but they still get smeared. If you haven't already tried a leather bound sketchbook that will help, but you'll still get graphite transfering to the page it faces unless you only use one side of a page.

Nice work, draw hard! (That's a reference to Pump Up the Volume )

Eek, so no updates in two weeks
I've been working on a project, but other than that, I don't have too much to show--I need to whip my lazy and unmotivated ass back into shape...

    DanielC: Thanks for stopping by!!
revender: Thanks, I'm going to start drawing on only one page from now on. It's just too annoying having to deal with all the smudges and transferred graphite.
    PieMonster: Thanks, same to you!

These are all done in charcoal, mainly willow and some charcoal pencil.
I'll put my worst up first just to get it out of the way. I really don't like this one...

Why being so self-disruptive, this is good stuff in here, you show a very confident linework, especially your portraits are damn good.
And don't compare yourself to other artists, they all have different backgrounds and motivations; everyone has his time, some earlier, some later, so it's about the time you decide to take art seriously, it says nothing about the level of talent (which you obviously have). So keep your head up !
No skill still isn't a new side.
