    Back to basic

    Hi eyeryone!
My name is Hampus, and I'm from Gothenburg in Sweden.
I really suck at drawing, but I want to improve and get a lot better.
I started to study Hogarth and Kevin Chen this week and here's some pics I made yesterday. Also a quick portrait, which I made in like 10minutes or something. The proportions are wrong in all pictures (atleast I think so) and I hate my lines... Have to work harder and practise a lot I suppose

Feel free to give me critic and help

    Cheers!

Looking at your sketches I'd say generally work on your proportions and also look at where everything relates to one another on the body so that they all measure up and come together.
Also, while the tones are an ok start, I'd say try and shade the surface of the shapes to define them more, rather than shade in just one flat direction.
As for 'hating the lines', I'd say some of the lines you have are quite confident, which is a good start.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

i think you need to go way back to the basics. start practicing with gestures and skeleton structure. then work on muscles and tendon connections. then skin and surface.

doing it wrong, over and over, is not practicing.
take your time for every drawing.
think while you're drawing about every line and the next.
learn to see your own mistakes. this is harder than it sounds.
seeing the proportions are wrong is one thing, but you should take some reference and look what proportions are wrong and how they are wrong...

anyway, keep drawing and concentrate. you'll get there.
