    Nice studies. You're really improving.
I think you need to work on shading a bit more, though you're coming along nicely.
    Keep up the practicing!

I agree zenobia, im trying to get things down quickly, often i dismiss something and move on.

I spent a bit more time with this one trying some new things. I think the value range is pretty weak.

Keep up the work! It's definitely paying off.
Haven't been paying attention to dates, but there's definitely a HUGE improvement between your first posts and current work.

You said you were taking a class. Where and which if you don't mind my asking?
I've been trying to find some good classes.
It's been difficult in England. Oddly.
Los Angeles is looking more and more appealing in terms of classes for people who're all growed up and trying to improve.

Thanks! your sketchbook is real solid. I like the energy in your characters

Im just taking classes at the local university for fine arts.
I just finished foundation drawing and 2d design.

I was into drafting and architecture in high school but this sketchbook is pretty much everything ive ever done.

Today i tried to just see the negative space and a little sketch that took a really long time im sorry to say.

I don't think you could get flight out of the wings without a more rigid rib cage to attach the extra pec muscles too. Birds need a lot of muscle mass to take off, together with very light fragile bones.

So I wanted a more human chest without scary pecs. Wings that would be for gliding or more agile land movement.

I know this entry isn't very readable but it all happened completely by accident.

This wasn't a pose. I just wanted to draw the torso in profile and this is what I got.

To top it all off when I cropped her to save, I also cropped the layers of sketches underneath

    another repaint of a sp...

playing around with Multiply and Screen effects. about a hour and a half before i hit that rendering wall.

Do i just keep increasing the canvass to get more detail like subdividing polygons in ZBrush?

maybe i just need to use more brushes

Lookin' pretty good, just make sure you are drawing what you see, not what you think you see. I'm sure you have heard that a lot though.

Pay closer attention to the negative shapes around the figure, maybe that will help.

thanks for the stop by my SB...I see you draw a lot! I notice that like me your drawings are pretty 'inconsistent' in quality.. sometime you draw some really good stuff, sometimes it doesn't come off as well... something that helped me a lot is to 'analyze' and tear-appart what I did on drawings that came out well....I notice that your black and white sketches/drawings come out much better in value than your color ones too....to remedy that remember that color is not as important to get an image across as value...so even though your color might not be on-point, if you get the value correctly, the image will not look as bad...flip your images, "desaturate" them to see if your values are coming together correctly...this helped me a lot....and keep posting!...it's kinda frustrating not getting many comments on CA...but keep going at it and they'll come and you're definitely improving so the more you improve the more people will like to help...

Thanks for the confidence. Ive been busy on a paper for school, but I did manage to get some time in today. This was mostly an exercise with the multiply effect. I wish i had tried this a few months ago.

    more practice.

Multiply and color dodge did not work out so well with this sketch, moving on after 30 mins. Maybe if I screen the yellow on the mid tones i can get a better result.
