Lots of great work here, I'm particularly impressed with how you're handling your life studies. Keep at it!

last portraits are awesome!! especially the first one i like![]()
Most of your stuff looks really good but sometimes I see this contrast thing that you over do. For an example; The last portrait has a lot of harsh colors to it and very hard highlight. She looks very metallic. This is something that you do a lot I feel so that would be something to tackle.
Try getting the light on the skin as good as possible and transfer what you learn to your personal work. Calm the whites and the use of bright spots, you only want to use those where the light hits more intense, else it will wash it out completely.
The first portrait looked a lot better though, that's what it should look like. Try to remember those things when you do your own stuff too.
Hope that helps some.
Agree with Loathsome there. I always feel it too, but never find the right words to say it (cuz i don't really know what the exact problem is). The feeling i get from your works from imagination are something like "monochromatic with specks of colors everywhere", it sounds confusing, i know, that's why i didn't say it. So it's a good thing you have Loathsome there, to crit you. I guess he made his point clearlyAnd yeah, i don't see the problem in the previous update too (the man with a turban on), so i think that's the thing to apply in your future works that come from imagination.
Anyway, i like and am enjoying your studies lately. You're doing good, mate. Keep going![]()

Now this one looks REEEEAAALLY great! The landscapes still look too saturated though, i'd tone it down a bit and add some details in the shadows that looks too blocky black (esp. in the cloud on our left).
Keep the study up, you are doing sooo good![]()

First pic- beautiful brush work on her hair and lively touch on her facial expression, though I find her neck a little thin.
Fab environments and the pictures are all very chromatically pleasing!
it's not the end that matters but the journey
oh my god, your progress is fabulous!
i would love to ...i don't know, sit beside you and draw! hahaha..i wish!
Nice SB loving the way you get those textures
keep rocking

again, some awesome studies. Can I ask where you find landscapes photos for the studies, and I guess also the portraits, google searches doesn't really give me anything in the right area.
Last update is veeery beautiful! Love all the paintings in it. I like how you work with colors now. Damn, you must be working real hard! I especially like how you did the old man's shirt.
Great job! Keep it up![]()

Ah wow you've improved ten fold since I last seen your work, its really awesome man! Renderings getting soooo much clearer. Well done
Great progress Alex, the latest Stilllife looks very promising.
wow your brush style just got wayyy more harmony through the whole image in the last several posts...sometimes people overuse a specific brush or throw too much detail without it feeling natural, but the landscapes of recent are workin so well. You really picked some amazing cloud studies as well.
Its not a big deal, but I think you could size down some of the images (thinking of portraits) as they don't need to be larger than my giant resolution can handle
absolutely love the last portrait, man with white hat. I would say the beard feels slightly cloudy to keep up with the realism in the rest of the piece. It really is an amazing piece - must have loved the photo the minute you saw it?
