    hmmm??

i made a fanart of one of my favourite fighting games. rival schools.

the diea of the drawing was to draw it in pencil but not to remove the pencil lines. some artists wich i like do that and it looks cool...but i never manage to make it look very good when i try that -_-

anyways. i would like to hear also a bit about the trees. i added them in later. i can draw trees pretty well by hand but when i draw them directly on the computer or i colour them i screw up...has anyone got a nice tree tutorial to draw/colour trees on the computer?

    Hello, great job! I love this game too. Haven't played it in a while, though. D;
Her face looks really cute! =] I think if you work on your coloring a bit more, your art will look more like artists you like. Are these artists on deviantart? If so, they might have tutorials to help you.
Also, the guy in the background has small hands.

thanks no the artists that i like are not from da but pro artists like for example:
http://www20.big.or.jp/~a-fun/sub/gr...lor/gc0001.jpg i can see that he does not remove his pencil lines but just colours over them. at some places i did remove a bit of the pencil lines because they were just too rough but tried to spare them like he did as much as i could.

    Hi there,

It's a lovely piece. There probably are some tree tutorials online, if you just google digital painting trees. But I'm going to suggest my way, which is generally using the particle brushes and just lay them all down.

Isn't that sakura from street fighter?

My main crit would be to darken the shadows in her dress more.

If you look at the thumbnail you might notice that the guy in the background looks like he is in front of her even though she is overlapping him because he has a higher contrast and darker darks. Easy to fix and I think it would help a lot.

Also, the perspective on the columns between the windows is weird. You can see both sides of all of the columns on both levels.

    Kind of odd

ah about the colums: they are not straight colums but...how do i say it..their sides stick out. i made a quick sketch of what kind of columns i had in mind en i drew it. if you would see the columns from above. that way i guess it would be alright if you could see both sides.

That isn't what it reads as... sorry

also, pay attention to your dark levels. The darks don't match from object to object and makes the piece feel disjointed.

If you still have this in different layers, I would say to get rid of the background and add something less static and less of a direct on shot.

The trees need a bit o work too.
