    thanks for the comments!
I'm gonna try to apply for animation school. I will also try to do some more bridgman studies again.

Anyways, small update for now but i'm working on an avatar for someone (so the end result will be very tiny) but i could use some feedback on it. I'm not sure what to do for the shades of the right eye (left for the character, right for us)
(also, i normally wanted to do a different style but my drawing tablet is still broke so can only work with my mouse x.x)

Lovely Sb! Hmh 's been a while since I've been on CA.. ;P Keep it up, would, really, like to see more.
Edit: Yeah, had to edit when I read that you were having troubles finding a right study . I'm studying game development myself right now, and although I have a great time with it, I too wanted something different.. Always had this thing for art really. Still since my time as an intern @ a really good game company here in the Netherlands I kinda want to persue a carreer in Character design and (maybe partially) art. However I totally understand that it must feel weird having to choose a definite path ^^.. Luckely here in Holland and Belgium we GET to choose That's how I see it anyway. Goodluck Lav.
*You might've already found a school, but anyway.. ;p*

Good updates! I especially love the little cow and the house up there and all the best of luck with getting into animation school. That sounds cracking

Read around in regards to portfolio stuff. It's good to take just a few of your best sketchbooks and to make sure you do things in a logical order (like all of the photos are bundled together). But sometimes it's so tough to tell what to leave in or take out or where to put it! "My papier mache mask I did when I was five. I can put that in right? ROIGHT?"
What an overwhelming lesson to all artists! Be not afraid of absurdity; do not shrink from the fantastic. Within a dilemma, choose the most unheard-of, the most dangerous, solution. Be brave, be brave! - Isak Dinesen

@ gutss thanks for your advice! It is a bit tricky at times to make the sellection but hopefully i'll end up with cohesive bad ass zomg-so-awesome-we'll-let-you-into-our-school-immediatly sellection (one can only hope, right?)

@Sweron, thanks! i don't really care much about right or wrong anymore. Don't get upset when a pose doesnt work, just go with flow and if it sucks, there's a new fresh blank page waiting right next to it!

    Small update, hurr dhurr

Try using more contrast- make the blacks really dark. Hell, i have the same issue XD I'm not sure if it's the scanner (it possibly is) but they come out a little pale on the intertubes

@raminafshari, thank you, i take it as a compliment :p
@maeshanne, thanks, will try to update with this type of work quite regularely
@nanoblack, it looks a tiny bit more valued on paper but either way, it could still use a lot more contrast, i just still find it scary to shade, always think i'm gonna mess it up completely :p
    @ColorExcursion, thank you!

I normally don't like to reply without being able to show an update, but ah well. Just wanted to say it might take a while before i can update again, am very busy moving in to my new place and getting ready for my entrance exam, wish me good luck!

    Hi Lav,

Sorry I don't check out your sketchbook enough. I'm so glad that you keep looking at my sb and commenting my work.

I think drawing from imagination and without any reference and getting stuck in spots is a great learning process. It makes you realize what you need to work on. I've actually learned a great deal that way. I still struggle from time to time and I've actually been using more reference lately for my latest work because I can't possibly know how to do everything. Def keep drawing from Bridgeman. I think that has been helping you. It would also be nice to see some more paintings from observation.

Those are some amazing photos Lav glad you had fun on your trip & that you finally decided on what to do. it's good to see you've kept busy and posted some great sketches, i especially like the poses in 27, i can never get myself to do 'quick poses', kinda obsessed with rendering stuff. the imaginative pieces are great as well, i noticed you usually leave out the faces or add a funky skeleton or the like, it's oddly refreshing i think, weird but cool
