Man,... I love your line work. It is so clean in studies. I wish I can do that instead of scribbling like I do. Thanks for sharing. Keep'em coming. More lines please...![]()

Very nice use of cold and warm color contrasts.

On the bloodsports entry, something about the stomach/lower back of the girl looks off. The way that hes grabbing it makes it seem like its just a circular cylinder instead of being an actual torso. Haha I'm not really sure how to explain it but hopefully you get what I mean.
Keep it up Sam! And your streams are awesomee.![]()
seems to be one of my fave sb's in here, i love your technique! Thanks for being so inspiring.![]()

WOW! Amazing studies and really sharp color skills.
It's pretty mindblowing to see the transformation from page one.
Subsrcibed.
Great values and textures as always Sam!
I think for your knight design at the bottom of #2358 you should consider the silhouette of the character more. At the moment he's a bit blocky/chunky.
The master study came out amazing, by the way
Geez man...so awesome!
The colors..the FORMS! Everything has this solid feel to it, like it exists in reality. But without being hyper realism...geezzz...lovvve it!!

oh facking awesome colors dude whattahel that piece of that girl the colors theyre so vibrant colorfull *faints*
Wonderful stuff as usual sam!
Done a really quick painter of some issues with the boat painting. Her closest arm seems to be rather chunky, and I think her shadows are a tad too strong and red to match the surroundings. It's pretty messy and i'm not too well informed on the subject but I made them a tad more blue to match bounce light from the sky/sea. Also, the top of her hands on the rail seem to be lacking in volume (I couldn't do a paint over for that because i suck too much.)

BHCS: Maann yeah that's been bugging me so much, kinda convinced myself it was just me being weird. Made like 10 editions to this piece since I've called it done, but I think this'll be the last one D: aha thanks!

Hey everybody!
Been pretty sparse with updates recently. Kinda fallen into a thing at the moment where I have so many things on the go that its kinda hard to update regularly. Still doing 2 hours of anatomy studies in the mornings, and sketching around in pencil to help with figuring out my ideas. That stuff all looks the same, and there doesn't seem like much point in scanning.
Decided I'm gonna illustrate a made-up book, as a vehicle to improve on. Gonna be called 'Storm Brewer' (so gay I know) and its all about flying shipsGonna be doing some character concepts to figure out who everyone is and what they wear (got the protagonist here) and then illustrate all the key moments in the story. Should be fun.
Next thing. Me and Dan Warren are running a book cover challenge for whoever is interested in that: http://www.crimsondaggers.com/forum/...8.html#pid6668 Doing James and the Giant Peach as the first one.
Lastly, some sculpture refs I took in Berlin : http://s268.photobucket.com/albums/j...94/sculptures/
You got anatomy, hands and drapery all right there!
Anyway here's the art
Protagonist for 'Storm Brewer' She's a fairly clean slate character to start with. Supposed to be very ordinary, hence her longing for adventure (which I think we all get around that age.)
And some studies!
Texture experiments, trying to figure out all this stuff is hard!

WOah man. I just flicked between your first and last page and GOD have you improved! A real inspiration, man. Keep it up!
When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw.
She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?"
