    r y a n o i r: cheers man
    Metal Fingers: thanks
jordyskateboardy: haha had a great time man, can't wait to hang out again soon
Andrew Sonea: You pretty much summed up all the things I struggled with in the image Once I'd realised most of the proportions were off, I was too far into rendering to be bothered to change them. In all honesty, I was too eager to get it finished to fix all the problems. Lesson learnt, cheers for the crits, will come in very handy the next time I'm doing a final piece
viki oh: thanks for the kind words
    Miles_: cheers buddy x

Some commission work I did for SnowStormComics, you can find their blog here. Original sketch done by Jeffrey Snow, and I did the painting over it. Still needs to have the title and everything put over it, but yeah, this is my bit haha

Really great stuff you are pumping out man, if I could make a suggestion it would to do some more variations in hue in your faces so they don't start to look dull-ish. Like some make up etc. I'm sure you can find good reference of it on the interwebz. I'm not very skilled at faces or anything, just a thought.
Keep up the dope work, man!

Great character studies. I haven't yet seen all of it but a fair chunk and I have to agree with pretty much everyone else and say you have improved a lot. Now, there is always a but, I see the brush technique you use a lot, it's a pretty common way to familiarize yourself with the digital medium but it lacks an artist signature. The thing in real painting is that it's important to always see the hand of the artist at work (and I can see a bit of that in your pencil work), and with this smooth downed work you are not learning that. I'm guessing that this is why you have quite a bit of trouble with landscapes and environments, because they don't adhere to the same technique as characters, and if they do they tend to all look the same. What I'm trying to say is that you need to find your own artist touch, your own way of representing everything in the painting spectrum - from grass to stone to characters, each painted with their own textures. Hope that helped mate.

Nice work man, the pencils are very inspiring! I like the way you have been simplifying forms and lines to get proportions more accurate, but you could start to work on getting your lines to flow and more natural gradients in your rendering to really polish it off. That said, don't loose the strong focus on structure you have, it's done wonders for your improvement

Keep it up and tell me how college goes tomorrow

Wow, it's pretty inspiring to see someone that keeps a sketchbook for 2 years +. I really love the commission piece you did for Snow Storm comics. I think you did a great job painting it. I think your use of color has really improved over time. Also great hand studies from Hogarth. Perhaps I should get one of his books too. Keep up the good work.

ryanoir: Yeah, but I just feel that chasing originality would end up being fairly fruitless. I'll just keep drawing until I get better.. Thanks
Miles_: Thanks, been trying to work on those recently
Istmin52: Not at 2 years just yet would highly recommend his books, but be sure to back up his work with life/photo stuff, because I think light and shape plays a more important part than the bones, muscles etc. Still worth learning though!
    Benjy: Thankyou

My art course at college is awesome! Some very interesting people and lots of time for drawing and I have an understanding art teacher, success.
