Thanks. I'm involved with the Fas, Famous Artists School out of connecticut, working my way through their course and learning about things that have brought me to another level of understanding. I'll post something when I've processed and applied my new info.

Hey the bargue studies are looking awesome. they are great for learning about how to handle tone. it'll show in your work really soon. but i do think your should try to do some anatomy studies as well. dont do it till it bores your tears, but try to do some everyday for atleast awhile if you can. maybe like...monday do arms, tuesday chest...almost like working out and just like working out, dont try to do the easiest stuff, and draw it hundreds of times, draw the hard stuff, the stuff that challenges you, and take your time with. and only do like 30 minutes so you can get to the stuff you love doing.

Most of this material is close to two years old, but thanks for the help!

I'm taking an at-home art school course. Basically this stuff reps where I was at that time. The bargue studies taught me how to "see" by doing them. I stopped after learning that. I would've become a zerox machine if I didn't go further beond bargue.

Hey! I can see why you dont touch photoshop yet. May I recommend George Bridgeman's and some life drawing session? It will really help to draw characters with good anatomy, volume, and connections (connections - most important part). Something that will help with proportions in muscle characters would be to imagine that the entire top half of the character would be the same length as the legs. This is actually a lie to the viewers, because the legs are slightly shorter in the average person, but it makes the drawing look nicer. Good job at picking up the pencil! Good luck

It's feels to me that you need a lot of practice as well.

What you posted 2 years ago looks good. I saw your post about FAS from July. Do you have anything recent you could share? I'm considering FAS myself so it would be very helpful to see how it helped you improve.
