Especially like the sketches with the gray-tones in them. The colors in the dwarf are fantastic.

Those still life are really cool. Nice job.
Man, I haven't been on the site in a few days and I come back after a brief Ricardo Robles-less bout to find a whole 2 updates. It's like some kinda holiday where gifts are given, or something.
There's a little bit of awkwardness in the pose of the space-marine type guy with the gun/sword. The arm holding the gun in particular is really oddly placed.
I absolutely love those guys in the sketches up at the top there. Especially the dude with the lantern. That ceremonial armor is really cool. Love the details.
Finally, it's always a pleasure to see you do some COW. Great take on the topic. As you said, it seems a bit rushed in areas (the fur in particular) but it's got a nice sense of scale and the I love the design. Hope you can do something for the current round, which we have the pleasure of having VegasMike hosting.

oh nice cat! also last one looks badass, really liking them birds alot!
Very inspiriational, thank you!
So much beautiful inspirational stuff. I'm sure you get that all the time. **looks up** Yep.
Absolutely stunning piece, Ricardo! So much movement and rhythm. Probably one of my favorites from you. I have some questions, though: how would you go about adding watercolor? Would you print this out and paint over it? Or are you talking about digital watercolors?
I think I´m calling it done, now moving to other stuff.
rumpenstiltzkin thank ya my friend
gerezon thanks!
SmallPolly, thanks for the kind words man.
Shadow Stalker thanks!! I use to paint in a paper, scan it and then put it on the psd file in any layer mode, probably overlay or so. Anyways I decided to go fully digital with this one.
cool style, your designs are very nice as well!
Looks great, Ricardo, tons of movement, and dynamism, great sense of unity between the character and the birds. If I have one nitpick, it is something I see all too often with many digital works. It has to do with chain brushes: they are an immensely useful brush to have, and do not discourage their use, but I think that they should be used in conjunction with a some kind of highlight or shadow that serves to give them more form than what simple perspective allows. The way you've positioned them, tapered them off and faded them out has done a lot to give them a sense of materiality, but they will always read in that realm of "custom brush" until they're worked back into (even a little) with painting.

kevin, thank you!
Si Swe, thanks for the suggestion, man. I have to say I fully agree with that you said. I often think the same when I see an indiscriminate use of that chain brushes, it needs more work than the simple stroke. Now I think i was a bit tired and just went for the easiest solution.. I will work on the chain, although I wanted to keep a quick effect, the illustration deserves that touch.
Beautiful and dynamic piece Ricardo!!! Maybe the bright background makes the subject to dark. Keep up the great work!!!
