Some nice character design here, but my favourites are those enviros. Your coloring schemes are awesome.
Keep on sketching!

Hey, I've figured out how to post older attachments! Yay!
CHOW 125 (I think):
Self-portrait for Self-Portrait Day (photoref):
Started working on the mummy for Hallowe'en CHOW:
But decided to go with more stylized movie monsters instead. Here's a stab at Dracula:
I'll be working on some more movie monsters next, then maybe a few old CHOW designs, and then I should probably get back to environments, since I need the practice and people seem to like them. Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Great sketchbook! I'm really digging your character designs, especially the caricatures. =)
I particularly like your pen and maker environment studies. There's a great energy and flow to them. Keep 'em coming! =D

I really like your fun style, your caricatures are so awesome! I feel though that they could be stronger if you put more gesture in them. Even your last female figure doesn't seem to really be standing and seems off-balance, but in your characters it seems all a little too stiff. Create more movement in the pose and there will be more interest, but also to really get into that feeling of movement. Keep at it, your style is pretty unique!
@hopebay - Thanks! I should get back to doing the environment studies. I need the practice!
@majortom - The ref for that figure was definitely odd. I think I didn't throw her hip out to the side enough. I'll have to correct it when and if I do a cleanup. Thanks for the suggestions for things to work on!
Did a lot of sketching this week but I'm really behind on scanning and I can't find half the stuff I want to scan in the great pile of paper.
Something that will likely make a good illo:

You have the cutest style - and I really love your sketches. The characters are all so well drawn. Love the more relaxed and free stuff if you know what I mean![]()

Just some rough & unfinished stuff to prove I haven't been a complete slacker. Have two acrylic paintings in progress and at least one digital pic, but work is sloooow.

@GoGoJo - I don't know how some people manage to scoot around in high heels in the winter. It's like a broken leg waiting to happen! I can't even walk in those things on solid ground.
Aaanyway. I've been half-slacking. Actually, I've mostly been slacking at scanning.

nice update although on the latest CHOW, i think if you were to widen the canvas and put the monsters face a little further down so we could see the whole thing it would strengthen the composition a bit. Cheers!
Heyyy, cool work in here, i dig your varied style and subject matter, fun stuff! No real crits, my only problem is that you dont update often enough...!
Lookin' forward to more!
yeah varied style
i like it very much , keep experimenting
@Metal Fingers - yeah, I think the composition could have used some adjustment. I forgot to ink its other fin, too. Live and learn!
@AustenFM and zou - thanks a bunch!
Some more Chow attempts:
Chow 200 (Monarch of Music):
Preliminary design for Chow 203 (Rosie the Necromancy student):
Final for Chow 202 (World Fighting Tournament):
And a crummy speedpainting that didn't quite work out but I needed to get out of my system. No ref.
