Art by Egil Paulsen ::: Dec 2008

I wanted to do something that felt intimate and scary

Painted in photoshop using a wacom intuos tablet.

    UPDATE: New painting: Omega
The very last day on earth? What a dramatic sunset it would have. I am playing with the idea to create my own "inferno" series.. one that would be much more subtle and with less flameable. This would be the intro

This is just awesome. I'm not usually a big fan of shadowy, detail starved work - but here it just works. The brain fills in whatever details are obscured, and the red focal point is, just, cool. (I couldn't think of a better word).

    I like it.
I work a bit more on giving the chest some defined form.
    Nice.

Very cool. The splash of colour works perfectly. The chest perhaps could have more detail put into it, but I think the face grabs the eye so well that it's not a huge issue. And the cloth at the top is awesome.

Love the piece, the colors work very well, and its so wonderfully creepy. Gives off a fantastic vibe. Well done. Look forward to see more pieces in this "series".

Powerful colors, and you really make them work. The anatomy could be more living, but still sensational stuff.

I think the wings in the first one get really lost in the background. Even a slight rimlight to where the wings meet the shoulders would help illustrate the silhouette of the character.
