wow! Looks great! I think this style works great for you as well. Have you tried inking your stuff? I see some cool line work there. Reminds me a bit of Heinrich Kley's lines.

Thanks Dizon do you mean inking the etching? I'm reading about different techniques and wouldn't mind trying it out. I had a look at Heinrich Kley I really like his work thanks for the inspiration
Been doing some random portrait sketches this week, some gestures today and ideas for the Gestapo Chow.
Nearly finished...
Just got the panther and the chain to do tomorrow. I can't seem to stop but it's 3am, gotta sleep...
Hey Ang! Love the updates and the CHOW! She looks pretty damn fierce! Are the glasses staying off? I started on this weeks chow but didn't think I'd finish it because the bf was meant to arrive on thursday. But now, thanks to the ash (grrr!) I've got a lot of time to work on it...
Have you been to any of the life drawing sessions in broomhall yet? I'm in London now, but if I come up over a weekend i'll give you a buzz and we should go together!
Hiya BelindaThanks, enjoyed this weeks got into rendering all the different fabrics, decided to keep the glasses off her, when I painted them on they didn't look good. Sorry to hear your plans are scuppered this weekend, where is he flying from? Interestingly someone pointed out to me though that for the first time in our lifetime there are no vapour trails in the sky.
Here's my final her name is Desdemona not sure why, she looks like one.

What a great idea for a character! Good job.
What I meant about your etching is that it has this inked look to it that I think would suit your stuff.
Cheers D...I see what you mean now, sorry got stuck in printing land. I've been itching to do some pen and ink drawings as well as cracking out the old watercolours hmmm I feel a traditional session coming on!![]()
hi angel
wow you've been the most active of the group lately (shame on me !)
i'm seeing improvement ! works pays off !
a note about your gestapo entry: i think eyes are too big
Hi zou Thanks I didn't notice the eyes, they are too big. I see quite alot wrong with it now, good learning curve.
Thanks GogoI like her shoulder pads, was pleased with the panther as well.
Did some studies last week. A colour pencil sketch of some leaves I found outside work, the quay near work and a quick study tonight of a friend, the photo was really blurred but it helped me practice drawing from my imagination.

I make a 4 skeches in 4 series
1.4xcharcoal
2.4xpenicl
3.4xpen
4.4xbrush and ink
I think it's good to don't limit your self in one medium
cheers and keep it up
I hope you understand everything... my Engish sux![]()
JustinBeckett Thanks, will do
Thanks Witcrack that's really nice of you to say. Like your sketchbook too, the scarecrow and frog on page one are really cool, nice work
Kojot Thanks very much for visiting too and the advice, I'm going to do some traditional stuff this weekend, I managed to sort out some space in the flat for me to sling some paint so we'll see what I can do.
In the meantime, this is a photoshop colour experiment on Stoph. My pens pressure sensitivity isn't working for some reason so it made colouring in a bit harder but it was a good challenge. Not sure the colourscheme is working though...

Good workings in here mate, keep woorking and reinventing!

i like the forms of the two last colored heads !
(try reinstalling the driver for the tablet, or reinstall the software you're using)
Hey Angela! Nice portraitAbout the color, the warm and vibrant background color is competing with the foreground image that is also warm and vibrant. I think you have to cool down the backgound to blue or something or alternatively, tune the saturation down. That' ll make the foreground image pops more.
About the pressure sensitivity in photoshop, annoying yeah? it happens to me too occasionally (i use version 10 or CS3 and a wacom bamboo fun small), updating photoshop don't solve the problem either. So, to solve that problem, i close photoshop, open my pen tablet properties, and start photoshop again, if it still not working, restart photoshop over and over again until the pressure is working again (usually around 2 to 5 times restarting).
Don't let the software keeping you from updating, keep up the good work![]()

the engraving are quite interesting !
about the last figure: nice colors choice, perhaps more rendering would enhance it
