I just read that bush was going to have to meet with the G8 and thought i had heard the worst of this financial crisis. This however truly brings me to a new low. I'll miss those cookies.

India and Pakistan, both nuclear powers, are veering toward bankruptcy and people are worried about cookies... I guess it helps distract from the real problems.

My wife and I can barely even talk about all this mess without getting stressed.

    :sigh:

I wish I had tasted some of these delicious goodies so I could empathize.

As the stock market continues to globally plumet all hands slowly begin to raise as the fingers point toward the US. Even if by a miracle things were to all of sudden take a contrasting shift the global stock relations will still have been fractured.

    This is true.

I don't remember the frosted animal cookies but I do of course know the animal "crackers" which look like the exact same thing minus frosting. Those came the cool little boxes that looked like circus box cars and had that little strap that was extra convenient for the six-year-old on the go.

I'm in the same boat as you and your wife about this ghostvalkyrie. I am always thirsty for the latest update about the economy or the election but reading about it just stresses me out and it's all i can do to take my mind off of it.

C'mon, Manley. That post itself was comical sarcasm.

Do I have to make a :wink wink: :nudge nudge:?

Be happy the 'those guys' haven't come in here to say it was a government ploy to end people's happiness. I wasn't serious.

I have seen those frosted cookies in stores, but I don't think I brought those before. Usually I buy the animal cookies in the little circus boxes. They still make those, and sometimes I pick one up for myself once in a while. They are so much fun to eat. I like to sit in a dark corner with a box, and imagine I'm Godzilla eating a zoo. Ooohh....a gorilla! I bite off its head savagely! Ah, a lion! I devour it greedily! And then I'm humming happily as I crush a kangaroo between my molars. It's one of those things that take your mind off from the stresses of everyday life.

I feel sorry for the kids everywhere who will never be able to taste those sugary treats. Maybe it is time to buy several boxes and sell them off on Ebay for 100 bucks each.

Well, what can you really do? Nothing. So just enjoy life the best you can, while you can, and stop worrying about the future. The sky will eventually fall, but we can't run around worrying about when, right? Have a cookie.

oops, i just re-read what i had put earlier, where it looked like i was jumping on the bandwagon of "how can we be talking about cookies at a time like this!?"

I was just in agreement with the part about not being able to talk about the current events without being stressed.

    What a total drag.

Every heart beats true for the Pink White and Blue. If yours doesn't, then you're grandparents must have totally failed you in the snack department.
How are we going to bail out all these Wall St. fat cats, and then just ignore all our regular fat cats like this? Ridiculous

What about the Oatmeal Iced cookies?

With Mother's gone, not only are the frosted animal cookies going to disappear, my favorite oatmeal raisins are going to be a thing of the past as well! Oh curse you, you practitioners of irresponsible financial practices that got us into this mess!

I also knew a vegan, and these were the only animals he would eat. How is he going to get his valuable sugar-frosted animal proteins without these cookies? Huh??

to put it simply, banks loaned people money that the people couldn't pay back. Therefore the banks collapsed because they didn't get returns on their loans.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.
