Wow! Thank you everyone! I picked a bad first couple of weeks to start a sketchbook, since the art team from the Atlanta office of CCP is here and it's keeping us pretty busy. But I'll try to keep posting regularly.
andyhunt- Thank you!
zulu- Thanks, will do!
carlosranna- Thanks, more as I get time to do them!
iolarnula- I've just been lurking like so many others. Feels good to finally be posting. Thanks for the kind words!
Obstbrand- Thank you, much appreciated!
LSeraph- Thank you!
mik.c- Thanks! Even though you say it isn't a bad thing, I still appreciate you calling me on itI love Foster's work, along with many others, and it's probably still too apparent. I'm slowly trying to move in another direction.
kidult- Thanks, more are coming!
Nubb- I'm really glad you like it!
dhilipsomesh- Haha I don't know about that, but thank you!
Buckster- Wow, thank you for the kind words. I use Photoshop primarily since it's what I'm most comfortable with. Every once in awhile I'll dive into Painter for fun. I love the color mixing abilities in it. And yep, I'm over at CCP (merged with White Wolf/CCP North America). I'm not sure if there are any other game companies here either haha.
Borilius- Thanks!
hp- Haha my initial steps are so messy I don't know if a WIP would be very helpful, but I can see if I can scrounge together some old saved steps. Thanks for calling me on the "hale-ish" thing btw. I'm trying to move away from having such a heavy influence from him
spookybabydoll- By huge do you mean the image is too large? Or he's too big for the scene?
RandAlThor- Thanks! I plan to!
JesArt- Haha that's not a stupid question at all. While I do love to paint in oils, these are all photoshop. Our apartment isn't set up very well for painting and supplies in Iceland are expensive!!
Gilles- Thanks! Cheers to you too.
Coinpurse- Much appreciated! Sometimes I wonder if I'm keeping things too loose but I really like keeping some areas rough.
Mischeviouslittleelf- Thank you!
Mr.Delicious- Thanks! I was just admiring your sketchbook right before I posted this.. really nice work!
TASmith- Haha glad you find it tasty. Thank you!
Grimnebulin- I thought about it, but it would get expensive fast if I started cutting monitors in half every time I got frustrated. Thanks!
trevor- Hahaha I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, but thanks for the props anyway. I look forward to peering over your shoulder tomorrow. Er... to watch and learn, that is!
archipelago- Thanks, I hope so!
yongs- Thank you!
marioucci- "Holly chihuahua in the sun!!!" I think that may be the best compliment I've ever received, and I don't even know what it means! Hahaha thanks!
corza334- I think it means conceptart.org is brokenHahaha. But thank you!
Finally: it was the first night of snow here in Reykjavik!! It had been too long for me, and it was my girlfriend's first time seeing falling snow. To celebrate I did a quickie tonight.. heavily inspired by her.
Hot stuff man, But you have more comments than work. HAHA Let's see more.

Now THAT'S how you start a sketchbook. Welcome and uh... thanks for adding to the inspiration pile![]()
so beautiful
Brilliant! I would love to move to Iceland myself if I could manage to get work there.
The quickie has some beautiful values and sense of atmosphere, well done.
I miss the snow here as well, the last couple of winters in southern Sweden have been really grey and wet.
Keep supplying the good stuffs.
Cheers

your spaceman is really good, everyone loves it.
Don't worry Twitchfinger, we'll wait for ya![]()
wow man, this spacemen are really amazing, especially this dark atmosphere on the second one!
Keep your sketchbook alive!
I love how you handle your focal points and lighting. I dig the dark palettes, but it would be nice if your areas of contrast had a bit brighter highlights/more contrast. I love your style though, reminds me a bit of Phil Hale and Jon Foster. Keep it up!
Lovely pieces! Keep 'em coming.![]()

beautiful paintings
DARAF, ForScience, zweiDee, Jason Rainville, SADCLOWN, NURO, headlessAdi, agelaos, algenpfleger, yongs, sabin boykinov, Spats, Delmar, grifter51 - Thanks very much! I'll try to update as much as possible.
tor- as far as mediums, I've been lazy lately. It's all digital, and probably 99% photoshop. Every once in awhile I take a piece into painter and throw on a few brushstrokes, but more often than not it just frustrates me. Plus I think painter hates my computer.
Hideyoshi- Much appreciated! I'm a big fan. Your enviroment paintings make me totally envious!
triggersamy- Thanks, here are some sketches.
Bazzu- These are all digital, though I miss real paints.
Mumph- Thanks! I admire the hell of out Phil Hale's work, but I'm trying to steer myself in another direction in the hopes of not becoming a cheap knockoff.
Buckster- I'd love to make it to Sweden one of these days. Have yet to make it there. Haha, though I don't know if you want to move to Iceland any time soon after this past week's events :/
TheJester- Thanks! I love Nicolas' stuff! I hope one day my work can feel as effortless as his looks.
AsaB- Nei, ég tala ekki íslensku.I'm actually from the US... just a hired gun over here!
KelsM- Thanks for the critique! I feel I still have a long way to go with grouping my values and using constrast and highlights effectively. I'll definitely keep a careful eye on it.
Ok, apologies for the boring update! We just finished with two crazy weeks at work that didn't leave much time for anything else.
I was frustrated w/ the hands on something I was starting, so I decided to do a some small studies. From photo ref and a few Bouguereau paintings, mostly.
Oh, and a quick nonsense sketch.
beautiful hand studies , love how clean and the same time expressive they look, great work sirkeep it update
hi nice to see your work here! i guess i like the first spaceman the most. like his pose and the feeling i get when i look at this piece! really strong anatomy too! id love to see more!cheers!

nah man, the difficulties are wide spread, but I guess you guys took a major hit, hope you are okay though.
I really enjoy the last couple of sketches, very spontaneous and loose. I would love to see some of your art progress if you'd feel like sharing it.
hang in there man!
Cheers
